Liuzzi could Race in Turkey

Vitantonio Liuzzi is looking increasingly likely to be handed a second chance to impress Red Bull Racing team bosses

A decision is set to be made after this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix about who will get the team's second race seat for the next few events.

After failing to shine during a four race run alongside David Coulthard earlier this year, it had been thought that Liuzzi had lost his place at the seat permanently to Christian Klien.

Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz even stated in public at one point that there would be no further driver changes this season.

But with Klien not having matched his early season performances during his recent outings, Red Bull's motor racing advisor Dr. Helmut Marko has said that a re-evaluation of the situation will be made prior to the Turkish Grand Prix.

"Klien will drive at the Hungaroring," said Marko. "Then we shall evaluate who will be behind the wheel alongside David Coulthard. So for neither Liuzzi or Klien have made themselves a must."

A second race chance for Liuzzi is almost certainly needed if he is to have a serious chance of proving that he deserves to stay at Red Bull Racing long-term, with Marko having confirmed that GP2 front-runner Scott Speed will become a test driver for the team next year.

The decision has come despite reports of a dispute between Red Bull Racing and Speed's manager Glen Hindshaw, who wanted more money for his driver.

Marko said: "It seems that Scott's manager would like to change the conditions of the contract. From where I can see it, we will emphasize to go on with the conditions as before."
