Fisichella Hopes to Score Points

Giancarlo Fisichella has not given up hope of scoring some points in this afternoon's San Marino Grand Prix, despite starting 13th on the grid as a result of his wild moment during Saturday's first qualifying session

The Italian had ran wide at Rivazza on Saturday after his rear wheels locked up under braking and, although he was able to gain some places with a clean lap on Sunday morning, he is likely to face a tough afternoon's racing, with overtaking so difficult at Imola.

"The grip levels were very low this morning, and especially because I was running early in the session," said Fisichella, who has not scored any points since winning the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

"That meant I had to do a clean lap with no mistakes, which I did without any problems. I have gained two positions compared to yesterday, which will definitely help me for the race.

"It will be a long afternoon for us, and a tough Grand Prix for the cars and drivers, but I hope to be able to score some points."
