Manager: Dominguez to test

The Mexican has been linked with a drive at the Midland F1 team that has bought Jordan and, although the team is set to confirm Narain Karthikeyan and Tiago Monteiro as its two race drivers, there is still a chance that Dominguez could land a testing role.

"Mario has spoken with the team and they have told him to come to England for the test," explained Luzet. "I think it is important with all the interest in Mario back home in Mexico that we try and go ahead and get a drive in F1."

It is understood that Dominguez is planning to fly to Britain next Tuesday, ahead of a seat-fitting on Wednesday and a day in the new Jordan-Toyota on Thursday.

Although Luzet said it would be better for Dominguez to race in F1, he would be willing to accept a testing role, perhaps on the Friday of grand prix weekends, to help prepare for a full-scale assault on the 2006 campaign.

"This test is very important for Mexico," he added. "But we have to view 2005 as a 'white' championship, so we can learn the cars, the tracks and everything around him."

The Jordan team has, however, denied that there are any plans for Dominguez to test for the team.
