No complaints over Schu

Fiat and Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has said his team can have no complaints about the disappointing form of Michael Schumacher in the Chinese Grand Prix - even though the world champion could manage no better than 12th as team-mate Rubens Barrichello grabbed the win

Schumacher opted to start from the pit-lane following his spin in qualifying and a pre-race engine change. But, as his team-mate led from the front, the German struggled for pace and found it difficult to come through the field.

To further compound his problems, Schumacher also collided with Jaguar's Christian Klien at the hairpin early in the race, had a mid-race spin and later suffered a puncture to trail home outside the points after the worst weekend of his season.

But speaking after the race, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said the team has no reason to be disappointed with Schumacher's nightmare weekend - especially because of his record breaking form earlier on in the campaign.

"Michael put on a great show for once," said di Montezemolo. "He had troubles, but his season has been more than unbelievable before now. I think Rubens demonstrated for us today that we have fantastic drivers."

Di Montezemolo also dedicated his team's victory to Ferrari's Chinese supporters, who helped make the first ever Chinese Grand Prix a huge success.

He added: "This was very much a tough race. To win in China, a new place for F1, is very special. To see so many fans with Ferrari flags made it feel a little bit like Italy and we dedicate this win to them."
