Montoya hopeful for Canada
Juan Pablo Montoya says that the BMW WilliamsF1 team should go well in this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, on a track that the team's cars have traditionally been strong performers
Montoya reckons that the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, and Indianapolis where the US Grand Prix follows a week later, favours powerful engines and a good low-downforce set-up and that should be good news for him and team-mate Ralf Schumacher.
"The BMW engine is still very good," said Montoya, "even if some other teams have improved since last year, so we should do well there.
"The BMW WilliamsF1 Team has always performed well at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit as it seems to suit our package, also the track offers some good overtaking opportunities, so I am really looking forward to that."
The team has been hard at work testing since the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, with cars out at both Silverstone and Monza and Schumacher says there's been progress.
"I'm convinced that we have made a step forward," said the German, "but I don't know how big this will be until we get to Montreal. I am now thinking on a race by race basis and will always try to make the best out of the situation."
