Wilson looks to America
Justin Wilson fears that the new Formula 1 testing regulations may force him to look to America for his immediate future in the sport. He has now all but lost his chance of a race seat for 2004 after being dropped by Jaguar
New rules mean that Wilson is in effect too experienced to be a Friday tester for an F1 team next season. Friday extras may not have driven in more than six Grands Prix.
"I hope the FIA will change the rules about testing," Wilson told the Daily Express. "But right now we will have to look at the States, where I had an offer last year in Champ Cars.
"I like that series because you can really race there, but clearly Formula 1 is the place to be.
"Not surprisingly I am a little down at the news and not exactly sure what I will be doing next year. It's not the perfect Christmas but I have had this before and you just have to stay positive."
