Williams: Winning would be our finest hour

In an interview with the Sunday Times last weekend, Williams admitted that he is relishing the close finish to this year's campaign which is likely to see not only the drivers' title [between Michael Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen], but also the constructors' [between BMW WilliamsF1, Ferrari and McLaren] go down to the wire.

"Winning the constructors' title in 1994 after the death of Ayrton Senna was quite an event for us, the way we came back," said Williams. "That's the only one that would come close."

Williams, whose team leads the constructors' table by four points from Ferrari and whose driver Montoya is just three behind the Maranello constructor's five-time world champion Schumacher with two races to go, also suggests that inferences his team might have a performance advantage heading into the US GP this weekend are dangerous. "If there's an edge it's the sharpest kind, and one of which you might cut yourself," he said.

"It's so close that circumstances will be just as important, and I include McLaren in that."
