I'll be back for Indy, says Ralf
Recuperating Williams-BMW racer Ralf Schumacher says he is "amused" to hear stories of who will replace him in the final two grands prix of the season, and has vowed that he will be fit enough to race in the next round at Indianapolis next weekend
Schumacher was forced to skip the Monza race after suffering headaches and nausea following his heavy testing crash 10 days earlier. Rumours have linked out-of-favour BAR-Honda driver Jacques Villeneuve to the seat, although this has been denied by team boss Frank Williams.
"I am very amused to hear and read these rumours about who will be taking my place for the final two races," said Schumacher on his website. "I can only say this: it will just remain speculation. I'm doing everything to be really fit again and of course assume that I'll be in Indianapolis. Everything else is rubbish."
Marc Gene, who finished fifth as his replacement on Sunday, has opted to step down from his Dallara Nissan World Series drive for the rest of the season, and will attend Indy in his role as reserve driver.
