Panis: I want to leave on a high
Olivier Panis is aiming to end his two years with British American Racing on a positive note in this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix
The Frenchman is switching to Toyota for next season, but is desperate to score points in his final performance for BAR-Honda at Suzuka.
"It's a very important race for me," said Panis. "It would be fantastic to finish in the points here and leave on a positive note. For me, that would be the best way of thanking the team for all their hard work over the last couple of years."
His team-mate Jacques Villeneuve paid tribute to Panis. "It's important for us to finish the season on a high," said the Canadian, who finished sixth in the previous race at Indianapolis. "It's also my last race with Olivier as my team-mate. Olivier and I have had a great working relationship together at BAR."
The Japanese GP has added significance this year for Honda. It will be the first time that the manufacturer will have taken on arch rival Toyota on home ground in Formula 1.
