Schuey takes nothing for granted shock

The world champion was a huge 0.6s quicker than team-mate Rubens Barrichello after the first two free practice sessions. The pair's nearest rival, Ralf Schumacher, was a further 0.3s back.

Schuey Sr admitted: "We looked quite strong today. However, we have seen situations like this before, when we have been dominant on Friday but failed to get pole on Saturday. So I want to wait until tomorrow and see what happens, but we definitely have a good package here, especially as the Bridgestone tyres seem to be very strong here, just as they were last year in Hungary."

Technical director Ross Brawn said that the day had not been as easy as it had looked for Ferrari. "It was a messy session as the track was dirty and every time our drivers went out, it seemed as though they wre driving a different car," he said. "But we know we have a competitive package for the weekend."

Ferrari can wrap up the constructors' title this weekend if Schumacher and Barrichello score more points than the Williams duo.
