Todt: Ferrari won't relax
Ferrari Formula 1 boss Jean Todt has sent a clear message to his rivals that the dominant team is not about to rest on its laurels following Michael Schumacher's fifth world drivers' title
The German clinched his hat-trick of Ferrari championships in the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours on Sunday, but Todt said that the Italian team is not about to slip into complacency.
"The team won't relax," he said. "It's not our approach. Each step we do on the 2002 car will help us for 2003 so I think it would be the worst mistake to say 'let's stop developing this car'. It's an on-going process. I still think we have great things ahead of us."
Schumacher has stated that he is already thinking about chasing a record sixth title next year, despite rumours that he could retire from F1 at the end of this season.
Todt said: "He never wants to leave something uncovered. He is dedicated, whatever happens.
"Michael is just a great driver, he's driving a fantastic car, he has a fantastic team behind him. Everyone is going in the same direction, and that is our strength."
