Jordan backs Walkinshaw to show
Eddie Jordan and Renault boss Flavio Briatore have backed Arrows chief Tom Walkinshaw to avert the crisis engulfing his team in time for free practice at Silverstone tomorrow (Friday)
Although Walkinshaw's cars made it to Silverstone on Thursday night for scrutineering, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Enrique Bernoldi may still not be allowed to compete this weekend because of two court cases having over Arrows, plus a $4.5 million to engine supplier Cosworth.
"I have known Tom for a long time, I have raced against him in Formula 3 and whatever, and I would say on that basis that Tom is a miracle maker because I will promise you he will be here, hell or high water, tomorrow," said Eddie Jordan. "I can guarantee it to you. I know the guy, he is a great fighter."
Briatore echoed Jordan's sentiments.
"I don't know so much about what happened today in the court but I am with Eddie. Tom is a fighter and I am sure that tomorrow he will be with us. Maybe he is a bad lawyer, I don't know."
However, with Cosworth demanding payment before allowing its engines to run in the back of the A23s, the situation for Arrows looks grave.
