Smart money on the Schumachers

The Williams pair endured a torrid Belgian Grand Prix two weeks ago, but their BMW engines are expected to give the Grove-based team the edge in Italy. According to British bookmakers Ladbrokes, Ralf is 9-4 to take pole and 5-2 to win the race. Team mate Montoya is a little further back at 5-2 for pole and 7-2 to pick up his first win in Formula 1.

If you are looking for a slightly riskier bet, have a look at the Benettons. The car seems to have greatly improved over the past few races and Giancarlo Fisichella is 14-1 to repeat the podium place he took in Belgium two weeks ago. Team mate Jenson Button is under the cosh at the moment, but if he is to show his mettle at Monza he could be worth a punt to finish in the points, the young Brit is 6-1 to score some points on Sunday.

However, the team from Maranello has consistently given punters a return on their money throughout the season and the best value Ferrari bet is probably a race dual forecast. Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello are 10-1 to score a one-two.
