Surprise, surprise: Bookies favour Schuey

The German is even money to win the race, the second round of the Formula 1 World Championship. The usual suspects Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard and Rubens Barrichello are those most likely to take the top spot come the early hours of Sunday morning, according to British bookmakers Ladbrokes.

The bookies see Heinz-Harald Frentzen as the biggest threat to the Ferraris and McLarens. The Jordan driver was 50/1 to win the Australian Grand Prix, but following his fifth place in Melbourne, the German is now 20/1 to win in Malaysia. And while Frentzen and team mate Jarno Trulli have seen their odds drop for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the odds for their closest rivals, the Williams and BAR drivers, have actually risen since the first race two weeks ago.

But the biggest drop in price goes to Nick Heidfeld. The young German was 150/1 to win in Melbourne, but bookies now place him at 66/1 to win in Malaysia, after he brought his Sauber home to an eventual fourth place in Australia.
