Bahrain GP: Alonso favourite in GP Predictor
For the first time this season Fernando Alonso goes into a grand prix weekend as favourite, according to the players of the Castrol EDGE Grand Prix Predictor
The Ferrari driver, who scored his first victory of the year in China last weekend, is currently the man deemed most likely to be the first to score multiple victories in 2013, with 34 per cent of users selecting him compared to 33 per cent choosing world championship leader Sebastian Vettel.
The Red Bull driver has been the overwhelming favourite going in to the first three races.
Both Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton are considered outsiders, according to GPP's players, with 12 and nine per cent respectively.
Grand Prix Predictor ambassador Karun Chandhok also reckons Alonso is a good shout for victory: "With only a week between races, China is a pretty good form guide for Bahrain, so Alonso and Ferrari look like they're in great shape."
Another GPP expert, former Toyota and Marussia racer Timo Glock, says Raikkonen could walk away with another win.
"The Lotus was a real weapon in Bahrain last year," he said, "so I'm going for Raikkonen as the winner ahead of Vettel and Alonso."
