A good day for the underdog, then, as Alfa Romeo top the charts. Or, for those of a certain age, that's Sauber leading Jaguar, with Jordan third and Minardi in fourth.

Verstappen spun the Red Bull on the way into Turn 10. No visible signs of damage, so presumably he just stalled it.
Red flag. That will be session over with just five minutes to go.
Verstappen and Kvyat have stopped on tract at Turn 10 and Turn 9 respectively.
We have a yellow flag on track for some sort of "track hazard".
Of course, there is the caveat that Grosjean drove this morning as well. Aggregated, Haas's 102 laps is dwarfed by the 175 totted up between the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton. Still, at least all four wheels are still on the wagon.

Grosjean has become the first man to complete 100 laps today - a welcome boost for Haas, which had its running curtailed on Thursday and Friday last week.
Red Bull is using the closing stages for some more pitstop practice - all of which have been absolutely rapid.
Just 15 minutes remaining of the first day of the second test, and it's still Kubica's benchmark from this morning that the teams will surely need to beat if they are to have any chance of success this year. Or perhaps not.
Meanwhile, back in the world of DAS - Ferrari has claimed that it thought of the idea itself but suspected it was illegal and did not pursue it further. "The reason why is the legality matter, which we didn't clarify with the FIA at the time," team principal Mattia Binotto explained. JONATHAN NOBLE has the story.
Ferrari previously considered Mercedes-style dual-axis F1 steering
It's incredible to think that Raikkonen's F1 journey began 20 years ago this year. Originally slated for the test driver role at Sauber for 2001, with Red Bull junior Enrique Bernoldi (remember him?) earmarked for the race drive, a series of successive tests convinced Peter Sauber that this shy 20-year-old was the man for the job. Perhaps even more shocking is that nowadays 20 seems pretty mature for an F1 debut...

Perez finds some time on C3s and jumps up to third in the Racing Point with a 1m17.428s. Currently, he is the top Mercedes-powered runner.
Russell's got a particular big splodge of paint on the front wing, as Williams will assess how the new geometry is shaping up.
Raikkonen seemed to be having fun racing Russell out there, and passes the Williams driver into Turn 3. That was fun for a few seconds.
Verstappen's lap really went away from him on the way into Turn 7 - he was a bit wide and that compromised his run through the rest of the sector. A small lock-up into Turn 10 also put him a tiny bit off line.
Verstappen jumps up to second with a 1m17.347s, though is some four tenths off of Kubica's time from this morning - though, remember, that was set on C4s.
Verstappen is giving us something to get slightly more enthusiastic about. He's gone pretty quick in sector one on C3 tyres.
Norris had a bit of a wide moment at Turn 2, going too deep into Turn 1 and having to take the scenic route back to the circuit. He's retreated to the pits as a result.
Concerning though it might be for Renault, Racing Point's gamble is showing every sign that it could pay off in the final year before it becomes the Aston Martin works team next year, by which point it is unlikely to continue basing its design concept on a rival. While successful in sportscars, and as a sponsor to Red Bull, the Gaydon marque has had a dire lack of results as a constructor in F1. It's most recent effort, the DBR5 seen here in action at Silverstone in 1960 with Maurice Trintignant at the wheel, made only one appearance before Aston cut its ties with F1 completely.

And after just a lap, he's come in and had them changed during a practice stop.
Verstappen has gone out for a spin on the development Zandvoort tyres.
F1 returns to the Netherlands this year. Red Bull on form + the orange army = Dutch homecoming and a once in a lifetime experience.
