F1 Monaco GP Live Commentary and Updates - FP3 & Qualifying

Updates from Saturday's F1 FP3 and qualifying sessions ahead of the Monaco GP.

Fresh from the Spanish GP, the F1 action continues with the Monaco GP.

Max Verstappen is the new Formula 1 world championship leader after winning the Spanish GP, as Charles Leclerc was forced to retire from a dominant lead in the race due to a MGU-H and turbo failure with his Ferrari.

Third and final practice for the Monaco GP gets underway at 12.00pm BST (1.00pm local time) before the all-important qualifying session which starts at 3.00pm BST (4.00pm local time).

Verstappen has slotted into second between the two Ferraris, with Perez in fourth

Both Aston Martins and Mick Schumacher have now joined the action

Just five minutes to go until FP3 and there's a 0% risk of rain - it's looking very sunny again today!
Elsewhere, F1 CEO and president Stefano Domenicali has cast doubt on Andretti’s push to join the grid as an 11th team, saying any new entry needs to be “really significant”.
There's been a lot of discussion around F1's budget cap this morning. Ferrari said there is no way it can keep to Formula 1’s current budget cap limit, while Alfa Romeo boss Fred Vasseur said top teams should “switch off the wind tunnel” to limit car development.
