Leclerc's going faster than Norris at this stage as the McLaren driver is tyre-saving. Arguably, the Monegasque driver is playing with his food a bit here.
Here's Hamilton continuing his recovery - the Mercedes driver gets DRS along the main straight and sweeps around the outside at Tamburello for P5.

Giovinazzi is forced into an unscheduled pitstop due to a brake issue with his Alfa Romeo. That drops him down to P15 and now we are struggling to think of any driver who has had a clean race up to now.

Hamilton set the fastest lap on the previous tour, but Verstappen does a 1m18.935s to extend his lead over Norris.

"What's happening with the shifts?" Stroll yells over his team radio. He's told his Aston Martin keeps losing sync. That could be why he lost out to Hamilton in a drag race on the back straight.

Perez's spin has relegated him to P14, giving Hamilton a place by default, and the Mercedes driver then gets ahead of Stroll to move up to sixth place.

Perez goes off at Villeneuve! He's dropped all the way to 14th - he overcooked it on the kerb and dived into the gravel.
Perhaps the thing that deprived us of a standing start was the two Haases being a further lap behind the rest...

Different circumstances but Hamilton faces a similar recovery drive to what he needed at last year's Italian GP after he was penalised. Hamilton climbed back up to seventh place that day.

Verstappen does a 1m21.006s for our fastest lap so far. Norris has dropped back a bit, as the need to make these soft tyres last dawns on him.

Tsunoda gets going again but is down in P15. Hamilton is in eighth place behind Stroll.

Norris immediately dispatches Leclerc into turn 1, diving past the Ferrari and will chase Verstappen!

At the restart Tsunoda has spun and is in the gravel! He looks to have made contact with someone in the midfield fighters.

Verstappen's had a sideways moment at Rivazza! He stays on-track, and gets us going again!
Verstappen and Leclerc remain on mediums, Norris and Perez on softs. Sainz medium, Ricciardo soft, Stroll and Hamilton medium, Tsunoda soft.

Raikkonen spun on the formation lap but got away with one and is still in this race.

We've got a rolling start rather than a standing start. Boo.
The lapped runners will go through, return to the pitlane, and then we'll have a formation lap to the grid.

So, after a few deep breaths and time to find composure, this race is about to get underway once again.

Russell's slap and Bottas' "to whom it may concern..." finger is hardly the fight of the century. Emotions run high after a crash, however...
Russell vs Bottas isn't quite Piquet vs Salazar, is it? It's more like a slap-fight in Eastenders than proper Queensbury-rules fisticuffs.
The lapped cars will be rolled to the pit exit first to go and un-lap themselves for the standing start. Race will resume in 10 minutes' time.
Verstappen has a little bit of a peek at the grid, checking out the lay of the land assuming we're headed for a standing start.

The incident between Russell and Bottas will be investigated after the race, which is still under a red flag.

Raikkonen had the prime view of the Russell vs Bottas crash, with his onboard camera showing Russell pushed wide trying to overtake on the outside of Bottas. With two wheels on the wet grass he instantly lost control and clashed with Bottas.

What a mad few minutes. To recap, Hamilton went off on his own but is still in the race and currently P9 under this red flag on lap 34. Half a lap later after Hamilton's off, Russell and Bottas crashed at high speed which caused the red flag and the massive mess at Turn 1.

Hamilton's earlier off has elevated Leclerc and Norris into the top three, as Norris is now in front of Perez - who we assume has served his 10-second time penalty.

Russell angrily remonstrated with Bottas when he got out of the car. That was a massive impact and Russell was clearly not happy with how Bottas defended.

The replays show Russell trying to go around the outside of Bottas in the run down to Turn 1, the Williams driver dips his right-side wheels on to the grass and that sends him into the side of Bottas at high speed.

That's a red flag for that crash between Bottas and Russell.

The safety car is out - both Russell and Bottas appear to be OK but both they are out of the race after crashing at Turn 1!

Hamilton's managed to back it out of the gravel trap, but he's got a lot of front wing damage!
And Hamilton's off at Tosa! He's slid off the track - has he kept it going?

We can add Alonso to the dry tyre party after he pitted at the end of lap 29. Can you imagine if it started raining now?

Hamilton ended up five seasons behind Verstappen - not all because of that pitstop, as Verstappen seemed to make the switch to slicks at the right time.
Hamilton comes in - but it was a little bit of a slow stop! That's saved Verstappen's bacon massively, and the Dutchman keeps the lead.
