F1 Abu Dhabi GP Live Commentary and Updates - FP3 and qualifying

Updates from Saturday's sessions ahead of Formula 1's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes W13, Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren MCL36, Zhou Guanyu, Alfa Romeo C42, Mick Schumacher, Haas VF-22, practice their start procedures at the end of FP2

F1’s season finale is here, as the paddock descends on the Yas Marina circuit for the Abu Dhabi GP.

Fresh from a dramatic Brazilian GP, where George Russell led a Mercedes 1-2 in the team’s first win of the season and his maiden F1 victory, all eyes will again be on Red Bull following the team orders row that erupted at Interlagos.

Lewis Hamilton led a Mercedes 1-2 in FP1, while Max Verstappen topped FP2 from Russell.

It is the final qualifying session of Sebastian Vettel's long and esteemed F1 career, but three other drivers face uncertain futures beyond this weekend too. Mick Schumacher, Daniel Ricciardo and Nicholas Latifi will all be hoping that this isn't their last time jumping in for a hot quali lap.

We're a little over five minutes away from Q1 getting underway. It's never good to have an early bath, but nobody will want to be dumped out early in the final session of the year with their next opportunity to impress not coming until next March in Bahrain.
The significant development from the race was that Logan Sargeant kept his F1 superlicence bid on track with a clean run to sixth, the prospective Williams signing outscoring immediate rivals Jack Doohan and first lap retirees Fittipaldi and Daruvala to retain third in the standings heading into tomorrow's feature race.
The F2 sprint race has just finished, with FP1 star performer Liam Lawson overhauling Richard Verschoor for victory after a lengthy red flag caused by a first lap clash involving Red Bull stablemates Enzo Fittipaldi and Jehan Daruvala which ended with both making hard contact with the Turn 3 barriers. Both fortunately escaped unaided.
