By: Jake Boxall-Legge

Summary

Bottas takes pole position off Hamilton with final Q3 lap
Hulkenberg stuns to take P3 as Racing Point stand-in
Vettel out in Q2 for Ferrari and will start from 12th place
Ocon to be investigated after qualifying for impeding Russell in first session
Status: Stopped
And that, my friends, was that. Thanks for joining us for qualifying - and we'll see you back here for tomorrow's 70th Anniversary GP. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hulkenberg: "Crazy last week! Q2 was tricky, made life hard for myself. It's definitely going to hurt tomorrow, not having last week's experience and going through the motions."
Hamilton: "It wasn't that great! But Valtteri did a great job and deserves pole. I don't think many people will be managing the softer compound [tomorrow]..."
Bottas: "Mentally, when you're starting on pole, you can only aim to win the race. And the starting point is good."
Bottom 10: 11. Ocon, 12. Vettel, 13. Sainz, 14. Grosjean, 15. Russell, 16. Kvyat, 17. Magnussen, 18. Latifi, 19. Giovinazzi, 20. Raikkonen.
Top 10: 1. Bottas, 2. Hamilton, 3. Hulkenberg, 4. Verstappen, 5. Ricciardo, 6. Stroll, 7. Gasly, 8. Leclerc, 9. Albon, 10. Norris.
"Yeeha! Get in there Racing Point!" Hulkenberg says.
Ricciardo couldn't go any faster, and had to be content with P5.
Hulkenberg fires his way up to P3! Verstappen tries to go quicker, but can't beat the Racing Point!
That's surely pole for Bottas by 0.1s!
That's Bottas! Bottas does a 1m25.154s to go faster than Hamilton!
The Mercs will set the first pair of laps in this stage of the session...
Norris clears Gasly at Copse to try and give himself some breathing space.
The next set of runs begins. Red Bulls on softs, Mercs and Ricciardo out on mediums.
Lots of chat about tyres, but it's mixed things up a bit - obviously, behind you-know-who locking out the front row.
That Renault is working rather well on mediums, but one wonders if they'll pop Ricciardo out on softs. The Red Bulls may follow suit - we can but see.
Red Bulls currently P5 and 6, with Stroll edging ahead of Gasly and Norris for a provisional eighth.
Big lap from Ricciardo, going P3 with his initial effort! It's a second off Hamilton, but crucially it's a tenth ahead of P4 Hulkenberg.
Bottas files into P2 with a 1m25.400s, just can't quite ahead of his team-mate.
Hamilton then does a 1m25.284s to go nearly 2s quicker than the McLaren.
Norris begins with a 1m27.250s.
Hamilton, naturally, is lighting up the timing boards...
A mix of tyres, it seems. Softs for all, except Ricciardo, Albon and Verstappen on the mediums.
Lando ahoy! Norris is first on the road.
Q3 is underway. The battle for pole hath commenced.
Verstappen will begin tomorrow's race on hard tyres, so Red Bull very much taking him onto a contra-strategy.
Our top 10 for Q3 is: Bottas, Hulkenberg, Hamilton, Gasly, Ricciardo, Albon, Stroll, Leclerc, Verstappen, Norris.
"P2, you're safe," Hulkenberg is told. "Woo! Jeepers," comes the reply.
Eliminated from Q2: 11. Ocon, 12. Vettel, 13. Sainz, 14. Grosjean, 15. Russell.
Vettel DOES improve, but only to 12th! Norris just hangs on to P10.
Grosjean, Sainz and Ocon can't get themselves out of trouble!
Gasly vaults up to fourth!
P2 for Hulkenberg, then as the chequered flag comes out!
A few cars all on laps, Hulkenberg is lighting up the timing screens as we speak...
Ricciardo and Verstappen don't look to be going out again in Q2.
Vettel's gone on softs to get out of Q2. This is what's known in American sports as a 'hail Mary'.
Up to P12, then, for Russell - a 1m27.455s. A good effort, for the man they call Mr. Saturday.
