Russell's the only man on track, doing his lap on the soft tyres.
As it stands, we've got Vettel, Sainz, Hulkenberg, Grosjean and Russell in the drop zone.
Russell seems to be planning a single lap on the soft tyre. Williams doesn't really have too much to lose with that strategy.
Vettel got up to P10, but Leclerc subsequently fires his way up to fourth to provisionally dump the German into the drop zone.
Hulkenberg only managed a 1m27.4s, given he had a really rapid first sector he's lost a big chunk of time somewhere...and it's at Chapel.
Ricciardo goes up to P3, ahead of Verstappen and Stroll for now.
Okay, pack up guys, game over. Bottas logs a 1m25.785s on mediums. These Merc lads are rather swift around Silverstone.
Ocon does a 1m27.292s, on mediums, which is not dissimilar to his Q1 lap.
Okay, Grosjean now sets our first proper time, a 1m28.750s.
Red Bull has really put the Max among the pigeons here, sticking Verstappen on the hard tyres in Q2. Hard. Tyres.
Grosjean sets our first lap, a 6m52.085s. What is this, the Nordschleife?
Grosjean gets us underway, with Ocon, Bottas and Hamilton also taking to the circuit.
Kvyat ground that kerb at Chapel like he was playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Thankfully he didn't ollie it.
Grosjean got through Q1 too, so Haas finally gets a little bit of luck this year.
Vettel only just got through that session, just under 0.3s off of an ignominious end to qualifying.
Eliminated from Q1: 16. Kvyat, 17. Magnussen, 18. Latifi, 19. Giovinazzi, 20. Raikkonen.
"I think something on the floor broke," Kvyat says. He went off-track at Stowe, so that may be where he picked up some damage.
Bottas did a 1m26.738s to go even faster! I mean, why not?
Stroll and Ocon leap out of the relegation zone and dumps Kvyat into a Q1 elimination! Kvyat's earlier time was deleted for track limits.
Magnussen and Latifi can't get out of the drop zone, and it looks like the Alfas won't either.
Albon, crucially, gets up to P3 and escapes from the drop zone!
Chequered flag out - we're in for a glut of times.
All except Verstappen, Hulkenberg and Leclerc have emerged on-track.
Giovinazzi and Russell break the brief hiatus in running, as the drivers at risk of Q1 elimination bolt on fresh softs.
"That wasn't good, we'll get penalised for that", Ocon says. At least he's honest.
Ocon will be investigated for his cameo as a moving chicane.
Russell gets properly blocked onto the run to Wellington Straight by Ocon, calling it "properly dangerous". Esteban Block-on strikes again.
So it appears that, if your cooldown lap is slow enough, you CAN do a second lap on these softs - but you risk losing time in the final sector.
Hamilton and Bottas have both found time on a second run, eclipsing Verstappen as Hamilton does a 1m26.818s to go top.
Leclerc was on a very hot lap, but just loses momentum into the final corners and can't climb any higher than fifth.
Hulkenberg looked to have found something on a second lap with those soft tyres, but loses a chunk in the final sector and can't improve his time.
And now Verstappen has a tilt, going top with a 1m27.154s.
Hamilton briefly takes top spot, just 0.04s ahead of Hulkenberg, but Bottas leaps to the top with a 1m27.175s.
Leclerc drops into P2, half a second off Hulkenberg as Norris does a low 1m28 to go P3 for now.
Raikkonen and Giovinazzi set their opening array of laps, but they're currently slowest out of the cars to have crossed the line.
