The majority of the top 10 have set their best times on supersofts, with Alonso and Raikkonen the ultrasoft exceptions in fourth and fifth.
Alonso's strong day continues as he moves up to fourth, between Verstappen and Raikkonen.
Tail end: 11 Hartley; 12 Ericsson; 13 Grosjean; 14 Ricciardo; 15 Magnussen; 16 Gasly; 17 Sirotkin; 18 Stroll; 19 Hulkenberg. No time yet: Vettel
Order: 1 Hamilton; 2 Bottas; 3 Verstappen; 4 Raikkonen; 5 Sainz; 6 Alonso; 7 Leclerc; 8 Vandoorne; 9 Ocon; 10 Perez
Hamilton finds three tenths to go faster still with a 1m13.031s. Bottas improves at the same time to reclaim second, but it's still 0.5s off Hamilton.
Max Verstappen splits the Mercedes to go second on supersofts, but he's still 0.365s behind Hamilton - who's on an even better lap.
Renault has got Hulkenberg's car back in one piece and he's on track. The only person still stuck in the garage is Vettel.
Ricciardo's second flying lap faded away in that traffic, and he's been pushed down to 11th now.
Valtteri Bottas then makes it a Mercedes one-two, though he's 0.463s off his team-mate.
Very quick from Hamilton - he does a 1m13.347s, which is a full 1.035s ahead of Raikkonen's previous benchmark.
The Mercedes are out on supersofts, and it looks like Lewis Hamilton is heading for the top of the times.
Traffic angst for Grosjean: "What's the game here? **** I got completely screwed by the guy."
The Saubers suddenly appear in third and fourth ahead of Ricciardo - Charles Leclerc (on supersofts) leading Marcus Ericsson (on ultrasofts).
Ricciardo, who's using supersofts, continues onto a second flying lap and starts well with a purple first sector, though he's got traffic to dodge.
Ricciardo does the best middle sector so far but the lap only adds up to third place behind Raikkonen and Sainz, and 0.856s off the pace.
The Haas pair have been swapping third place, with Magnussen ahead of Grosjean now. Hartley then gets between them.
Looks like problems for the other Ferrari, though, with a lot of work going on on Vettel's car and no sign of him emerging.
Pacesetter Raikkonen is still the only one from the top three teams to do a lap, but Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull is on the circuit now too.
That Raikkonen lap briefly puts the Ferrari half a second clear at the front, but Sainz then gets to within 0.051s of him - and he's using supersofts while Raikkonen's on ultrasofts.
Raikkonen finds another half a second and does a 1m14.382s in first place.
Early order: 1 Raikkonen; 2 Magnussen; 3 Hartley; 4 Grosjean; 5 Sainz; 6 Perez; 7 Leclerc; 8 Stroll; 9 Gasly; 10 Ericsson
Hartley briefly goes fastest on a 1m16.014s, before Raikkonen puts that into perspective by pulling 1.1s ahead with a 1m14.817s.
Perez is the slowest of the four cars to do a time so far, eight tenths off Raikkonen.
Hartley nips in second fastest, 0.513s behind Raikkonen and 0.006s ahead of Sainz.
IndyCar team boss Michael Andretti is hanging out in the McLaren garage with Fernando Alonso. Wonder what they're chatting about? Rallycross, maybe?
Raikkonen has done the afternoon's first flying lap - a 1m16.158s.
Carlos Sainz Jr is next out in his Renault, while team-mate Nico Hulkenberg is still sat at the back of the garage waiting for the team to finish sorting this morning's gearbox problem.
"A lot of pulling on the brakes," reports Raikkonen.
No takers in the first couple of minutes, but Kimi Raikkonen now sets off from the pits in his Ferrari with a set of ultrasofts on.
