"Magnussen tried to hit me two times, in Turn 1 and 3, I don't know what he's thinking," Alonso adds.
A bit of handbags between Magnussen and Alonso - after Magnussen feels the McLaren baulked him at Turn 1. They spend a few corners getting a bit too close for comfort, with Alonso saying it's "very dangerous".
Hamilton goes fastest with the first 1m28s lap of the weekend - a 1m28.908s.
"This is the bumpiest track I've ever been on," says Hamilton of Silverstone's new surface.
Hulkenberg is told "if you manually close DRS but stay flat, you can reopen it after the corner". Interesting info from Renault, although Hulkenberg says "that's what I thought, actually".
Top 10 early in FP1: Vettel, Verstappen, Raikkonen, Bottas, Ocon, Ricciardo, Grosjean, Perez, Magnussen, Sainz.
Grosjean lets Vettel through before Club, then moans that the Ferrari "backed off in front of me" immediately afterwards.
It says a lot that Red Bull can go through T1 with DRS open right from the off. Nobody else is willing to. It is incredible though that the skid blocks can stand up to that lap after lap - lots of sparking as a result.
"I cannot open the DRS after Turn 1," says Sainz, as we get a shot of the wing closing mid-corner.
1m29.244s for Vettel, and Bottas's lap falls away after two fastest sectors, so he only crosses the line fourth fastest.
Vettel and Bottas are both on course to beat Verstappen's time.
Raikkonen is now just 0.017s slower than Verstappen at the head of the order.
Ricciardo climbs to fourth as his run continues, while pacesetter Verstappen is now in the Red Bull garage.
Bottas goes fourth, while Hamilton remains in the pits in the other Mercedes, having only completed one lap so far.
Sirotkin rejoins, having just looped it on the power as he nipped past Bottas's Mercedes. Not often you see an F1 car go off there.
Verstappen dips under 1m30s with a 1m29.4s. Team-mate Ricciardo goes sixth with his first effort.
Raikkonen's Ferrari is the same again next lap round. It also seems to be reacting strangely at the apex - maybe hitting a bump but I haven’t seen that from anyone else.
Vandoorne is reporting a long brake pedal, but he's told the system all looks fine and he is clear to start a timed lap.
Raikkonen didn’t have the DRS open but the car looked unstable - he needed about three bites at turn in. The Red Bull looks really stable and secure by contrast even with it open.
Lots of bottoming out from Max - front of floor and maybe front wing thanks to centre of aero pressure being further forwards due to DRS being open through Abbey.
Verstappen goes faster - 1m30.009s, with Perez slotting into second.
Lots of talk this weekend about if drivers can get through Turn 1 with the DRS open, well Verstappen managed it on his first flying lap.
Verstappen goes fastest with a 1m30.8s, while Gasly slots into third behind Hartley for a Helmut Marko 1-2-3.
