Hamilton can't quite depose team-mate Bottas - he goes second, just 0.003s off the other Mercedes.
Current order: 1 Bottas; 2 Vettel; 3 Ricciardo; 4 Hamilton; 5 Raikkonen; 6 Grosjean; 7 Magnussen; 8 Leclerc; 9 Stroll; 10 Ocon
Hamilton is back in the pits at the moment and yet to run supersofts, so is fourth with his soft-tyre time. Verstappen is yet to emerge at all as Red Bull works to fix an oil leak.
Ricciardo is fastest of anyone in the twisty middle sector, but loses a bit of time in the other two thirds of the lap and goes third. He's 0.318s off Bottas's pace.
McLaren tells Vandoorne his lap looked "really good apart from Turn 10" but comforts him with info about "a very big tailwind at Turn 10". Vandoorne, who has used softs so far, is currently 15th.
Grosjean and Magnussen have done their supersoft runs and gone up to fifth and seventh, either side of Ricciardo - who is now on his qualifying simulation.
Bottas pips Vettel by 0.073s and goes fastest on a 1m08.846s.
"There’s still something lose, jumping back and forth," reports Vettel. Ferrari's rummaging between his legs was clearly not successful.
Bottas's first sector is better than Vettel's was on that lap, but he's down in the middle.
And Vettel goes fastest with a 1m08.919s, which is 0.326s better than second-placed Hamilton's time on softs.
A replay suggests it was a lock-up in the middle of the lap that dissuaded Bottas from continuing to push.
Bottas and Vettel are close together on track, and the Ferrari is 0.015s faster in sector one.
Right now, the order is 1 Hamilton; 2 Raikkonen; 3 Vettel; 4 Bottas; 5 Ricciardo, with only Raikkonen having used supersofts and he made a mistake on that lap.
Now both Vettel and Bottas have come out on supersofts to show their hands properly.
Hamilton has stayed on to do a long-ish run on these softs, and he takes the top spot off Raikkonen with a 1m09.245s. He's fastest by 0.167s.
Hamilton improves on his used softs, he stays third but Raikkonen, Vettel and Hamilton are within 0.076s of each other.
Not by much though - Raikkonen's 1m09.508s is only 0.057s better than Vettel. That's down to a big moment out of the final corner that gave him a poor run onto the straight.
Unsurprisingly Raikkonen is well on course to fastest with those fresh supersofts tyres.
Hamilton gets his first proper lap of the afternoon in and goes second, 0.097s behind Vettel. Both used softs for those laps.
The two Saubers were first out after that stoppage, but now here's Raikkonen on a set of supersofts. Onto qualifying simulations already?
Hulkenberg's wreckage has been cleared, and the session is back under way.
"There's something loose between my legs," reports Vettel. "Apart from the obvious... Something around my feet." That gets the laugh you'd hope for from Ferrari.
"Is the Renault [driver] OK?" Vettel asks Ferrari. "Yeah, he's OK, he's out of the car," the team replies.
Perez, Hamilton and Ocon had set out on track but didn't get a time in before that incident, while Verstappen remains in the garage as Red Bull works on his car.
Order during this red flag: 1 Vettel; 2 Bottas; 3 Ricciardo; 4 Leclerc; 5 Raikkonen; 6 Grosjean; 7 Magnussen; 8 Stroll; 9 Sainz; 10 Vandoorne; 11 Alonso; 12 Gasly; 13 Sirotkin; 14 Hulkenberg; 15 Ericsson; 16 Hartley
Hulkenberg basically ran wide out of Juncao, got onto the kerbs and grass, tried to keep momentum but lost it and slammed into the outside barrier.
