Barcelona F1 test two day one

Hulkenberg's heading out again and will almost certainly make Renault the first team to clear 50 laps today.
Renault's nearest competitor in the lap count is Haas and Mercedes, with all three teams using this morning to complete long runs on the C2s.
Giovinazzi does make a run of purple sectors stick this time and improves to 0.122s off Gasly's benchmark.

The Alfa man used the C3s to make that time.
Hulkenberg's on the C3s now and found marginal lap gain. He's currently seventh-fastest.
Russell's also managed to pick up the pace after the red flag and is now firmly in the 1m20s range with his time of 1m20.724s.

He's eighth and completed 30 laps as Williams makes up for lost time.
Giovinazzi and Russell end their stints, both looked to be on more of a performance run than we'd seen earlier this morning.
Hamilton's continuing his longer run on the C2s, with Magnussen, Albon and Hulkenberg sharing the track with the Mercedes.
Our pacesetter Gasly heads out on track now to join Albon, Hamilton and Hulkenberg.
Albon ends that run and more than doubles the total laps Toro Rosso had completed prior to the red flag, bringing it up to 22.
We should see Leclerc in the Ferrari imminently. After such a strong first test, that ended with everyone and their mothers declaring Ferrari had the edge, week two has started bluntly for the Italian team.

Leclerc has just six laps to his name after three hours of the second test. Ferrari said it needed time to perform some checks – which it has now revealed to be regarding the car's cooling system.

We've been told to expect Ferrari back on-track "very soon".
We're about to head into the final hour and unsurprisingly we've yet to see Norris and McLaren return to the track after the earlier red flag.
Leclerc's in luck, the track's practically empty. Just Magnussen and Hulkenberg to share the Tarmac with.
And from our quick glance out the window - and a very blurry, almost missed picture from the intrepid Jack Cozens - that looks like the C3 compound for Leclerc.
And Leclerc's lap as he passed Cozens's camera puts him third with a time of 1m19.071s.
And he's beaten that time again the next time round, lapping in 1m18.868s and a whisker away from Giovinazzi in second.
Giovinazzi and Leclec have been battling in the sectors and Leclerc goes second with a 1m18.651s. The former uses C4s to improve his time to 1m18.721s, but not enough to take back second.
That Leclerc time is just 0.023's off Gasly's long-held benchmark too.
After that flurry of timing screen excitement, we're not seeing any improvements. It's a fairly busy track, but no-one is pushing too hard.
Giovinazzi's a big fan of practice starts. So much so, we've lost count as he prepares for his latest one.
Leclerc completes his 17th lap. Ferrari had done just six before the new recruit's latest stint.
If Russell manages two laps in this new stint, he will have bettered his total from the whole of last week in a single morning.
Russell's on some C5s as he enters the pits, spins the wheels and does a practice start.
Hamilton's joined him on the C2s though, so its the drivers with the most miles this morning running on the circuit.

Both have completed 64 laps.
Speaking of Magnussen, he's heading out again now after a practice start.
Hamilton is on C2s again, Hulkenberg's still on his C3s and Magnussen is running the C3 tyre. Plenty of long running into this half an hour you would expect.
Hamilton set a personal best sector early on but ends up a second down on his best, backing up the long run theory.
For one last time before the chequered flag brings an end to the morning, here's a look at the lap counts as they stand currently:

Hamilton - 67
Magnussen - 62
Giovinazzi - 46
Gasly - 44
Russell - 40
Norris - 38
Stroll - 36
Albon - 22
Leclerc - 20
Not hard to see why Hulkenberg, Hamilton and Magnussen are well into the 60s for laps, all three are continuing to have the track to themselves.
Current pacesetter Gasly has headed back out, as has Albon in the Toro Rosso.
Yep, you guessed it - it's a trusty set of C3s for Gasly, who immediately pumps in a personal best time in the first sector.
