Vettel appears to be on a high-fuel run as well, with just 24 minutes of the first session to go.
Sainz looks to be running a fair bit of fuel. His latest effort on C1s was 5.3s off of Kubica's lap.
The Barcelona circuit's mix of long straights, fast long bends, and a complex infield makes it ideal for testing and spectators alike.

Gasly finds a bit of time on the C3 tyres and improves to a 1m18.408s in eighth spot. Stroll on track now long with Vettel.
Kubica has bailed, but another Ferrari-powered car has taken his place in the form of Vettel's works car.
Gasly joins Kubica out on track. Red Bull, meanwhile, has deployed a human wall in front of Albon's car while it tinkers about with something.
Kubica goes fastest with a 1m16.942s on C5s. That's 0.811s clear of Hamilton.
Although Lewis Hamilton bumped him off the top spot, Lance Stroll continues to sit in second for Racing Point. The two haven't been close to each other all that often in the Canadian's F1 career so far, but in his rookie campaign in 2017 Stroll did start on the front row of the Italian GP for Williams after the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were both given grid penalties. .

Hamilton had a bit of a moment on the way into the final chicane before pitting.
"Screens are up at the entrance to the Williams garage. Imagine they are going to strip that car down to fix whatever went wrong."
Ricciardo has enjoyed another strong morning, racking up 50 laps so far in the Renault. After a season that he called "anomalous" last season with no podium finishes, he'll be keen to see Enstone's latest creation move up the order this term, as ALEX KALINAUCKAS explains in his latest Plus column.

Sainz guides the McLaren to a 1m18.221s on C3s to edge Kubica back down to fifth spot.

Kubica jumps up to fourth with a 1m18.230s on C4 tyres. Gasly improves in ninth with a 1m18.974s.
Latifi certainly isn't the only driver who has raced at everybody's favourite Darlington motorsport venue though. Here's a pint-sized Lando Norris winning a Ginetta Junior race in 2014 - he took pole for both races that year, but was beaten to the punch by James Kellett in race one. Norris also raced at Croft on his way to the 2015 MSA Formula (now British F4) title, but was unable to add to his tally of wins despite scoring two more poles, having to settle for a second in the final race behind Ricky Collard. Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen also won at Croft in their Formula Renault UK title seasons in 2003 and 2000 respectively - remarkably, Raikkonen was a Formula 1 driver just one year later...

Albon puts in a 1m18.822s on his first flying lap to go eighth fastest.
Albon comes out on track for the first time since an initial install lap at the start of the session. The Red Bull driver is out on C2s. AlphaTauri's Gasly is out on C3s.
Not a great start to the day for Latifi, who has had quite the journey to get to F1 - we reckon he's the only driver on the grid to have raced at Croft in a sportscar in the last five years. Here he is on his way to a sixth place finish in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB race in 2015, incidentally won by last year's British Touring Car runner-up Dan Cammish.

The broken Williams is now loaded onto the back of the recovery truck and track cleaning looks nearly complete, so hopefully we'll be back underway shortly.
Marshals look to be putting a bit of cement dust down on the exit of Turn 9. Recovery vehicle is on the scene. Latifi now looks forward to an early lunch.
Looks to be another engine issue for Williams. Latifi stopped on track last week in testing with a similar issue.
Unsurprisingly, the session has been stopped due to Latifi's stricken Williams.
"Stroll has been leisurely wheeled back into the garage but is staying in the car, so will likely be back out soon. Wheels are off and nose has just come off too. Some inspections with a torch being done."
"The Renault is back in the garage and driver (Ricciardo) is out of the car. Some fairly relaxed work going on around the car, including some polishing of the bodywork. So it doesn't look like there's anything troublesome going on."
It's now five years since Fernando Alonso was concussed in a test crash at Barcelona and forced to miss the first race - despite claims from then-McLaren team boss Ron Dennis to the contrary. Understanding of concussions in the general motorsport sphere hasn't moved on too much since then, but fortunately work is underway to change that.

Latifi set the fastest firsts sector of anyone, but backed out of that lap. He stays fourth for time being.
McLaren sends Sainz out on C2s for a run. He's currently fifth in the order on a 1m18.699s.
Latifi improves in the Williams to a 1m18.300s in fourth spot.
