Barcelona F1 test day two

Live Text

Leclerc is 14 laps into a long run that looks to be taking place on high fuel. He started off in the mid-1m23s, but his last two have been a 1m27s and a 1m29s, the latter of which featured a lock-up and running very wide at Turn 5.
All eyes on Hulkenberg, basically to make sure his rear wing doesn't fall off again, but the only thing that happens of note is him not bothering with the final chicane before coming back to the pits.
Hulkenberg goes out in the Renault, having taken over from Ricciardo, who just managed to sneak back out before lunch following his rear wing failure earlier in the morning (there's a video of it if you scroll down a bit).
Haas has switched up its run plan for tomorrow. Fittipaldi will drive the morning session, while Grosjean drives in the afternoon. It was meant to be the other way around.
Stroll pits after a short run with a big aero rake attached to his left sidepod, and Gasly joins Bottas on track. Both are on C3 (yellow) tyres.
'What about the lap count?!' we hear you scream.

Leclerc 78Hamilton 74Gasly 69Giovinazzi 62Albon 61Norris 53Stroll 47Magnussen 33Ricciardo 28Bottas 8
Bottas pits, and Stroll comes out to make sure we still have two cars on track.
Leclerc has joined in with Bottas, although so far our pacesetter today is just passing through the pits and doing practice starts. Bottas improves to a 1m24.0s, but remains 10th.
Next time around it's a 1m24.860s for Bottas. Hamilton's best this morning was a 1m19.928s, which was good enough for seventh before lunch.
Bottas's first lap, on C3 tyres, is a 1m25.838s, so he slots in at the bottom of the order for now.
Little surprise to see the first driver to head out in this session is one who didn't drive this morning: Bottas gets his first lap of the day having taken over from Hamilton during the lunchbreak.
Sauber is no more (technically) so we can't spend the next two weeks bombarding you with Sauber facts. So while things are quiet, we'll do it one last time, in video form. Enjoy.

Green flag at the end of the pits, but no sign of any cars yet.
While we wait for track activity to get back underway, here's a look back at the main talking points from day one of testing.
And here's the final lap count:

Hamilton - 74
Leclerc - 73
Gasly - 69
Giovinazzi - 62
Albon - 61
Norris - 53
Stroll - 45
Magnussen - 33
Ricciardo - 28
There were no late improvers, so here's your times for the morning/a bit of the afternoon session.

1 Leclerc (Ferrari) 1m18.247s
2 Magnussen (Haas) 1m19.243s
3 Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) 1m19.312s
4 Norris (McLaren) 1m19.489s
5 Gasly (Red Bull) 1m19.814s
6 Ricciardo (Renault) 1m19.886s
7 Hamilton (Mercedes) 1m19.928s
8 Albon (Toro Rosso) 1m20.046s
9 Stroll (Racing Point) 1m20.433s
The chequered flag is waving in the Barcelona breeze.
Albon is still sawing away at the wheel of his Toro Rosso, which may have been more at home on last weekend's Rally Sweden with the amount of sideways action it's had.

Another moment at the last turn requires correction from the British-born Thai driver.
Magnussen misses out on his best by 0.035s on that last run. There's one minute to go in the session.
Giovinazzi has pitted his Sau...

Giovinazzi has pitted his Alfa Romeo after 62 laps.
Norris and Leclerc have both pitted and then emerged again. Norris has done that twice now.
Hamilton has pitted with just under five minutes to go. Presumably that'll do for the Brit after 74 laps and Mercedes' fastest lap of the test so far.
And Glenn Freeman's early Autosport session report is ruined! Magnussen sets the second fastest time on the C2 tyre. It's a 1m19.243s. Just over five minutes to go in the session.
Leclerc is coming out. Perhaps he fancies ruining Glenn Freeman's session report, too?
Stroll has pitted the Racing Point, after amassing 45 laps. Gasly joins him, after 69 tours.
Magnussen has joined the circuit for some more laps in the Haas, which needs two laps to pull itself off the bottom of the laps completed table. Ricciardo is next up.
Mediocre middle and final sectors end Giovinazzi's chance of improving this time around.
Just over 10 minutes to go in the session, Giovinazzi is flying on the C4s.
Giovinazzi is out, presumably to ruin Glenn Freeman's attempts to get a head start on our morning report and switch up the order...
Albon improves by a fraction, but remains eighth overall in the order. It's a 1m20.046s.

Leclerc pits from a lengthy C3 run.
