On the subject of Ricciardo, hello to the Red Bull team, who have asked us why our timing box features their launch livery and not the proper one unveiled this morning. As many of you are probably also wondering the same, here's the answer: Our designers are still drawing the new one! We'll get it updated as soon as we can.
Ricciardo sets a new best final sector as well, and gets under 1m21s with a 1m20.668s. He stays third.
Ricciardo celebrates completing 40 laps so far with a fastest middle sector on this run that has been mostly spent in the low 1m21s. Decent consistency from the Red Bull.
Though this first morning has been the complete opposite of how McLaren wanted its F1 2018 to start, the early signs for its new design were positive before it hit the track. Here are GARY ANDERSON's thoughts on the 'hidden gems' in the MCL33:
Why first-class McLaren contains hidden gems
It's been a while (nearly two hours) since McLaren said Alonso would be back out "soon". In fairness, 'soon' is not a specific amount of time.
Ricciardo has now also relieved Bottas of third with a new personal best of 1m21.017s.
Raikkonen takes the top spot back from Hulkenberg! It's a 1m20.506s, only 0.041s up on the Renault driver.
Raikkonen sets a new personal best of 1m20.570s, which is a scant 0.023s slower than Hulkenberg. The Finn is now on soft tyres, though.
Ricciardo edges closer towards Bottas with a 1m21.393s, staying fourth. Mazepin finds more time and is only a tenth off of Ericsson in P9 now.

Mazepin sets his best time of the day, a 1m26.386s, but it's not enough to lift him from the bottom of the timesheets.
A 1m21.431s that time for Ricciardo, but he's still another three tenths to find if he wants to move ahead of Bottas.
Ricciardo posts a 1m21.542s in the Red Bull, staying fourth. Raikkonen, Stroll and Mazepin - after his earlier incident - also circulating.
Hulkenberg brings the Renault in with 54 laps complete. Hartley (50) is the only other driver to have completed the half-century, although Bottas (45) and Raikkonen (43) aren't far behind.
A decent improvement there by Bottas, a 1m21.106s, but the Finn remains third behind Hulkenberg and Raikkonen.
Another fastest time for Hulkenberg, a 1m20.547s. Bottas has also improved in the Mercedes with a 1m21.774s, but stays third.
As well as being quickest, Hulkenberg has surpassed Hartley in the lapcount stakes now. 52 laps and counting for the Renault RS18.
Ericsson still improving in the Sauber, but remains ninth and 4.6 seconds off the pace.
Bottas starts another run, weaving down the main straight again to warm up another set of mediums.
More improvements for Ericsson, meanwhile. The Sauber driver has leapfrogged Mazepin with a 1m26.535s and is now ninth.
Hulkenberg takes over again at the top with a 1m20.863s, 0.107s up on Raikkonen.
Hulkenberg improves to a 1m21.254s, remaining second, cutting the deficit to Raikkonen down to 0.284s.
Hartley gains a place on Grosjean now with a 1m22.661s in the Toro Rosso to go sixth.
Now Raikkonen becomes first to break the 1m21s barrier of the day, as he sets a 1m20.970s.
Raikkonen is still using mediums, the same tyre as Hulkenberg.
After threatening to go fastest a few times this morning, Raikkonen finally deposes Hulkenberg - exactly an hour after the Renault driver set his best time - with a 1m21.064s. That's 0.262s quicker.
Stroll still finding more speed as he sets a 1m22.452s. He's just over a second off Hulkenberg's benchmark.

Raikkonen moves into second - it's a 1m21.710s from the Finn, who is still using mediums.
McLaren boss Zak Brown says Alonso's trip into the gravel with a lost wheel was caused by "a wheelnut issue". The car will be running again this afternoon, reports motorsport.com and Autosport's ADAM COOPER.
Stroll improves to a 1m22.536s, staying fifth in the Williams.
