It's the Red Bull drivers up front once again. Can anyone stop their charge in final practice? Join us tomorrow for all the answers.
Just outside the top 10, di Resta was 11th but he just missed that target pace with 1m29.1s on his final hot lap on hard tyres.
Massa ends the day in eighth, ahead of Button ninth and Perez rounds out the top 10 in the other McLaren.
Raikkonen is third with Lotus team-mate Grosjean fourth, Alonso fifth, Hamilton sixth and Rosberg in seventh spot.
Rocquelin tells Vettel: "You can practice braking for the pitlane – but after that there’s a bit of mayhem at the FIA [weigh]bridge."
Vettel is fastest in second practice at Monza with a best time on medium tyres of 1m24.453s, 0.623s clear of Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber.
It would appear that one of the main focus points of those trips through the pits for Vettel was for him to practice the entry into the lane.
Vettel came out of the pits for that second time and for some unknown reason headed straight for the escape road at Turn 1, without even attempting to negotiate the first chicane.
Vettel decides that he shouldn’t stay out, and that he wants to pit. He labours his point, prompting engineer Guillaume Rocquelin to shout: "Get off the radio!"
The session has ended. Drivers already on a timed lap may complete it.
89 min: Hamilton has also been through the pits and back onto the track recently.
89 min: Two runs through the pitlane on consecutive laps for Vettel, thus giving the German a couple of opportunities to practice a start at the end of the lane.
87 min: Di Resta switched onto the hard tyre several laps ago. His pace on the last lap was 1m29.255s.
87 min: Button, running on hard tyres, reaches 40 laps in the session. He is still ninth quickest some way off the pace.
86 min: Di Resta is now told to “target 1m28s” and to change his rev map.
86 min: Despite his off, Alonso continues his long run. The Spaniard is now on 35 laps in total.
85 min: Rosberg attempted to go round the first chicane, then bailed out halfway through and hopped over the speed bumps - yet more pain for the floor of a Mercedes.
85 min: Replays of Rosberg, who does one of those half-hearted efforts at the first chicane, where he neither misses it completely, nor goes round the chicane properly.
84 min: Alonso goes off at the second Lesmo, but returns to the track after a brief run on the gravel.
82 min: Chilton reports that his "braking problems are still there".
82 min: Hamilton is in his own world of adventures. This time he runs slightly wide exiting Parabolica and kicks up the dust. He continues.
81 min: Hulkenberg asks: "How many laps have we completed?" He's told: "16 - push everything out of this tyre"
80 min: Webber has pitted and switched to the hard compound tyre. He is back out for the final 10 minutes.
79 min: Ferrari reports that Massa is suffering from a gear-selection problem. He's now out of the car and looks like he will not be running anymore today.
79 min: Di Resta is continuing to hammer round and is nicely into the target pace. His last lap was 1m29.315s on 19-lap-old medium tyres.
77 min: Massa on his gearbox issue: “Got a problem with changing gears. I’m in third, so maybe I come in like that?” He’s told by Rob Smedley: “Just don’t go down to second.”
77 min: Massa is back in the pits, as is Chilton, the only two drivers there.
75 min: Williams also working through direct tyre comparison at the moment - Bottas is out there on the hard tyre, while Maldonado is lapping on mediums.
75 min: Perez is told that he's losing time to Button "in the middle sector".
74 min: All drivers are on track now as Raikkonen leaves the pits for a run with the mediums.
74 min: Hamilton has been exploring the limits of the racetrack once again. He gives the floor more punishment and launches through the yellow and black speed bumps before rejoining.
74 min: Alonso on a 17-lap stint so far. He's is lapping in the 1:29ms, still far from Vettel's pace in similar conditions.
73 min: And now it's just the Finn in the pits as Rosberg is back out.
72 min: Only Raikkonen and Rosberg are not running at the moment.
71 min: 1m29.870s for di Resta on his latest lap of the Monza circuit. Now his race engineer will want him to remain in that bracket on these tyres.
71 min: Hamilton is told to "cool his tyres and go again".
70 min: Vettel has been into the pits and he heads back out there on medium compound tyres.
69 min: Di Resta lowers his long run time by more than one-tenth of a second. He comes through in 1m30.204s, two-tenths away from the target pace.
68 min: Di Resta's last lap was 1m30.385s on medium tyres that have completed 12 laps.
68 min: Hulkenberg is another man going long, the German using the medium tyres and lapping some five seconds off the pace.
