Lap 53: That mistake has cost Vettel four seconds of his lead, now clocked at 14.6 over Hamilton, chased now more significantly by Alonso.
Lap 52: Di Resta's race engineer tells him that after the recent problems with tyre choice in the last events, they will leave the decision up to him. He is to tell them when he feels the tyres are starting to go off.
Lap 52: Ooops, that's a mistake for Vettel, who cuts through the grass at the first corner.
Lap 52: Alonso is pushing now on his fresh tyres, closing to 4.6 seconds behind the second-place Mercedes.
Lap 51: Maldonado pits the Williams from 17th. He takes on another set of medium tyres and rejoins without losing a position.
Lap 51: But Webber is keen to make up for that messy last stint, closing slightly with the fastest lap.
Lap 51: Sutil lies eighth in the other Force India with Raikkonen ninth, Grosjean 10th, Massa 11th, Perez 12th, Button 13th and Bottas in 14th.
Lap 51: Not a great pitstop phase for Webber, now over three seconds behind Alonso in fourth place.
Lap 50: So that's Vettel still leading by a massive 18 seconds over Hamilton, who is now 6.3 up on Alonso.
Lap 50: Vergne remains in a fine sixth and he is 11s behind Rosberg. Di Resta is still to pit in seventh - this is some stint by the Scot.
Lap 49: That's all the info Vettel needs to make his final stop for more medium rubber.
Lap 49: Hulkenberg then pulled off the track at Turn 3, citing suspension failure as the reason and he retired.
Lap 49: Webber is told to "push to the end" after good tyre wear results on the last stint.
Lap 49: Hulkenberg had moved over on van der Garde while lapping him at the final chicane. The pair made contact and we know what happened to van der Garde next. He is out of the race.
Lap 49: A quick tyre change at Mercedes and Hamilton resumes in between that McLaren battle.
Lap 48: Van der Garde has pulled off and a marshal attempts to remove the wing.
Lap 48: Medium compound as well for Alonso and he's back underway.
Lap 48: Alonso reacts to Webber's stop with a final tyre change of his own.
Lap 47: Van der Garde has dislodged his front wing. It is stuck under the chassis of the Caterham.
Lap 47: Webber resumes, almost with van der Garde again, who has more dramas in his Caterham.
Lap 46: Perez in 12th is told that he is racing team-mate Button, who is directly behind him. Let's see what happens this time...
Lap 46: Little movement in the top five in recent laps with teams pondering the window to make a final tyre change.
Lap 46: Vergne continues in sixth spot with di Resta still yet to pit in seventh. Sutil is eighth with Raikkonen ninth, Grosjean 10th and Massa 11th
Lap 45: Hamilton actually quicker than Alonso on the latest tour and still closing fractionally on the runaway leader Vettel.
Lap 45: Perez pits the McLaren from eighth spot. He takes on medium tyres again and rejoins in 12th spot.
Lap 44: Grosjean is another who is only just into the pits after some 42 laps. He takes on super-softs and rejoins down in 11th place.
Lap 44: Good pace from Hamilton now as he hears of the threat from Alonso. He's actually closer to Vettel now with Alonso still back seven seconds.
Lap 43: Bianchi is another driver to pit this time round. He just managed 40 laps on mediums and rejoins in 19th.
Lap 43: Rosberg has faded down the road since his third stop, trying to go the distance on his third set of tyres, now 53 seconds off the lead.
Lap 43: Massa comes in and rejoins in 12th position on medium compound tyres.
Lap 43: Alonso is clocked 7.8 seconds behind Hamilton, with the Spaniard surely looking to fight for that second place.
Lap 43: Meanwhile, Vettel tops more sector times with his lead now 15.8 seconds.
Lap 42: Bottas has been in for his second stop. He takes on mediums and rejoins down the list in 15th spot.
Lap 42: That releases Alonso up to third and he sets off in chase of Hamilton.
Lap 42: Alonso is piling the pressure on the second ed bull now and finally makes it stick with a bold move into the first corner.
Lap 41: Hamilton is picking up speed now as he nears the end of his middle stint. He has maintained the gap at over seven seconds back to Webber.
Lap 41: Ricciardo pits from 14th spot in the Toro Rosso. He takes on another set of mediums and rejoins in 17th.
Lap 41: Despite losing that chunk of front wing, Webber is managing to hold off Alonso for the moment.
