Lap 65: Five laps remain in an action-packed Canadian Grand Prix.
Lap 65: That looked like minor front wing damage to Hamilton but both continue the battle over second place.
Lap 64: Hamilton grabs the DRS and is right with Alonso as they make more light contact at the final corner!
Lap 64: Webber is clocked 8.3 seconds behind Hamilton, who hasn't given up on second place yet...
Lap 64: Further down the order, the other Ferrari driver is also involved in a scrap. Massa is chasing Raikkonen for eighth.
Lap 63: Delight in the Ferrari garage though and both cars seem to be intact from that battle over second place.
Lap 63: Great stuff from Alonso again this afternoon, but he will have to hope he survives that minor contact with Hamilton there.
Lap 63: Sutil comes in and serves that drive-through penalty. He loses 14.4 seconds in the process and drops down to 10th.
Lap 62: Alonso tries the outside line into Turn 1 and with a brush of contact, he is through to take second.
Lap 62: Great racing here and Alonso can't do it on the run down the back straight.
Lap 62: Hamilton is slow off the second chicane and is forced to defend robustly into the hairpin.
Lap 61: Hamilton's Mercedes remains strong down the back straight but Alonso will surely be on for a DRS move.
Lap 61: Hamilton keeps Alonso at bay for the moment but this is the key battle over the closing laps.
Lap 61: And Sutil's woe is complete, as he is given a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags.
Lap 60: Sutil is now under investigation for ignoring blue flags.
Lap 60: Alonso really wants the points for second place, with Hamilton frustrated by Sutil's tardy adherence to the blue flags.
Lap 60: That lapping move hurt Sutil quite a lot, as Raikkonen in ninth slashes the gap to the German down to 2.2s.
Lap 59: Sutil drives past further blue flags as Hamilton finally gets past and holds off Alonso for the moment.
Lap 59: That's put Alonso right with Hamilton and the Ferrari man surely fancies his chances on DRS.
Lap 59: The Frenchman takes on super-soft tyres and he maintains track position over di Resta. They continue in sixth and seventh.
Lap 59: Alonso now just a second behind Hamilton on the road as the Mercedes attempts to pass Sutil's dented Force India.
Lap 58: But there's tyre woe in the other Mercedes as Rosberg makes that extra stop for a final set of rubber.
Lap 58: Hamilton is told his temperatures look good. "Please just let me drive, man!" is the response.
Lap 57: Di Resta takes on the super-soft tyres and does indeed rejoin still in seventh spot.
Lap 57: The Ferrari has been strong on DRS today, but Hamilton's Mercedes is quick in a straight line.
Lap 57: Alonso is really pushing his Ferrari, but he will soon be in dirty air from the Mercedes.
Lap 57: 1.4 seconds is the gap between Hamilton and Alonso over the line.
Lap 56: Hamilton battles through traffic as Alonso puts a lap on team-mate Massa.
Lap 56: Rosberg, meanwhile, is told he can soon make a further pitstop to replace a flat-spotted tyre.
Lap 55: Alonso has Hamilton in sight now, while Vettel is long gone with the new fastest lap.
Lap 55: Alonso now 2.7 seconds behind Hamilton as Webber is also encouraged on to chase the Mercedes.
Lap 55: Grosjean pits from 11th place in the Lotus. He takes on medium tyres and rejoins in 13th.
Lap 54: Di Resta in seventh is maintaining a 24s gap over team-mate Sutil. When he eventually comes in, he should get out without losing a place.
Lap 54: Fastest lap for Alonso now as he closes to 3.4 seconds behind Hamilton.
Lap 54: Massa is on another charge - this time after Grosjean. He quickly dispatches the Lotus and moves into 10th.
Lap 53: Alonso is really looking at his chance to boost his points haul, but Hamilton is keeping the Mercedes lapping quickly this afternoon.
