Lap 40: Hulkenberg has been into the pits for a second stop. He rejoins further down the list in 16th place.
Lap 40: Vettel takes the fastest lap, back up to 16.4 seconds clear of Hamilton, who has also picked up his pace.
Lap 40: Van der Garde has been given a stop-go penalty from the stewards for ignoring blue flags and causing a collision.
Lap 39: Webber and Alonso are now in the 1m17s bracket, closing further on second-place man Hamilton.
Lap 39: The German takes on another set of medium tyres and rejoins further down the order in 11th position.
Lap 39: Webber's front wing is missing some of the end fence but his pace remains good for the moment.
Lap 39: Sutil pits from ninth position in the Force India.
Lap 38: Van der Garde is now under investigation for that contact with Webber while being lapped.
Lap 38: Four wheels still on Webber's car for the moment but Alonso is now pushing behind with the fastest lap.
Lap 37: Webber has continued but looks to have front wing damage after the door was closed by the Caterham driver.
Lap 37: Alonso is still right with Webber... who has tangled with van der Garde down at the hairpin!
Lap 37: Raikkonen has another go at Bottas and makes the move stick. He moves up to 12th position.
Lap 37: This strategy isn't working for Massa, who continues in 10th but has dropped back seven seconds from Sutil.
Lap 36: Vergne in sixth now has di Resta only 1.6s behind him, with Grosjean eighth. The Lotus driver has Sutil on his gearbox.
Lap 36: Alonso and Webber are both lapping faster than Hamilton now, with that pair eying the Mercedes man in second place.
Lap 35: Raikkonen blinks and backs off for the leader. Bottas lets the leader go a few corners later and the battle for 12th is resumed.
Lap 35: Vettel is now 15.6 seconds ahead of Hamilton after some traffic for the leader in recent laps.
Lap 34: Hamilton reports some DRS problems with his Mercedes.
Lap 34: Bottas then defends from Raikkonen as they go side-by-side through Turn 4! They avoid contact, but they are starting to hold up Vettel.
Lap 34: Rosberg is now fifth on the road and that seems like an ambitious target for the tyre-hungry Mercedes.
Lap 34: Perez gets in the DRS zone and almost nudges the back of Bottas as they cross the line. He makes the move stick and takes 11th.
Lap 34: Rosberg is remarkably told he is to run to the end on this set of tyres, some 39 laps.
Lap 33: Webber clocks the fastest lap, with the gap to Hamilton ahead now 10.2 seconds.
Lap 33: Bottas (11th) continues to defend from Perez and Raikkonen, but leader Vettel is only a few seconds behind the trio on the road.
Lap 33: Meanwhile, Vettel leads by a remarkable 17.7 seconds over Hamilton.
Lap 32: This hasn't gone well on tyre wear for Rosberg, while Hamilton is still finding speed on his medium compound rubber.
Lap 32: Webber is released to set the fastest middle sector as Rosberg heads in for an early second stop.
Lap 32: Bottas in 11th is struggling again and has Perez and Raikkonen directly on his tail.
Lap 32: So it's now Webber up to third place, with Alonso fourth and Rosberg down to fifth.
Lap 31: But he can't hold that either and Alonso is past Rosberg on the pit straight, thanks to DRS.
Lap 31: Webber makes it stick this time as Rosberg closes the door on Alonso.
Lap 31: Webber is right with Rosberg now as they head into the DRS zone.
Lap 31: Behind this great three-car scrap, Vergne is 23s adrift in sixth with di Resta seventh, Grosjean eighth and Sutil still in ninth.
Lap 31: Webber looks very keen to clear the Mercedes now, but needs to be wary of the threat from Alonso.
Lap 30: Rosberg is forced to defend robustly under DRS this time and that could come to the attention of the stewards.
Lap 30: Rosberg's pace is limited at the moment, allowing team-mate Hamilton to pull eight seconds clear of that scrap.
Lap 29: Rosberg, Webber and Alonso still nose-to-tail in the battle over third place and surely that will come to the boil shortly.
Lap 29: Button does indeed pit this time. He takes on medium tyres and rejoins from his one stop in 16th position.
Lap 28: Button is requested into the pits at the end of this lap by his race engineer. He is 13th at the moment.
Lap 28: Rosberg is now over 20 seconds, a pitstop, behind Vettel on the road.
