Mark Webber claims a fine lights-to-flag victory, making it six different winners in the opening six rounds of an amazing Formula 1 season. A close 78-lap event was shaped at the start when the Australian was able to get a great jump on Nico Rosberg as the five red lights went out.
Satisfaction for the frontrunners, including Felipe Massa who scores solid points after a very difficult start to his campaign.
Good cheer as well for Vijay Mallya and his Force India team with a double points finish, while Lotus will hold a post-mortem into what went wrong. Caterham got close to securing that elusive first point, but Kovalainen's fine run in 12th ended with contact from a frustrated Jenson Button.

A good day for Red Bull in the constructors' standings, moving 38 points clear of McLaren after another difficult race for the Woking team.
Hamilton is now 10 points further behind the Red Bull pair as he continues to look for a top finish, chased by Rosberg, Raikkonen and Button
Alonso is out on his own in the lead of the title race after another podium, heading a tie between Vettel and Webber by just three points.
Webber is off, down the steps and straight over to give his team a thorough soaking after a fine victory around the streets.
The top three plus Adrian Newey pose for the traditional end-of-race photograph, before Webber grabs his champagne bottle.
That is followed by the Austrian national anthem for this afternoon's winning constructor - Red Bull Racing.
The Australian national anthem rings out over the unique Monaco podium for today's winner - Mark Webber.
Red Bull technical chief Adrian Newey is on hand to receive the constructors' trophy.
Alonso steps up to the podium to pick up the third place trophy after another strong drive from the points leader.
Nico Rosberg takes his award for second place in today's race.
Webber accepts his winning award from Prince Albert. He is clearly overjoyed by his drive to a second Monaco win.
Nine drivers retired from the Monaco Grand Prix:
Button pulled off at Ste. Devote after a failed overtaking move against Kovalainen deep in the race.
Ricciardo, Schumacher, Petrov, Kobayashi and de la Rosa all retired in the pits.
Pic pulled off at the swimming pool, Maldonado ended his race at Loews and Romain Grosjean started the chaos on the first lap at Ste. Devote.

Webber blasts the throttle of his Red Bull as the delighted Australian heads in to the unique podium on the front straight.
Senna rounds out the points finishers in 10th, with Perez 11th, Vergne 12th, Kovalainen 13th, Glock 14th and Karthikeyan 15th.
Delight for Webber as he repeats his 2010 triumph here, winning for the first time since the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix last year.
Di Resta leads his team-mate Hulkenberg home and Force India gets a double finish in seventh and eighth, with Raikkonen ninth.
Massa comes in sixth after a much-improved weekend performance from the Brazilian.
A frustrating fifth for Hamilton, who lacked ultimate race pace from his McLaren this weekend.
Vettel makes the long strategy work, taking fourth after using his soft tyres for much of the distance.
A fine third for Alonso, who cleverly conserved tyres early on to jump Hamilton at the pitstops.
Rosberg gave chase throughout but had little challenge for Webber to take a strong second place for Mercedes.
A commanding drive from the front for the Australian, holding off severe pressure to become the sixth different winner of the year.
Mark Webber wins the Monaco Grand Prix!
Lap 78: Glock is 14th and on the tail of Kovalainen, as Webber continues to lead the train into Tabac...
Lap 78: Rosberg is just behind the lead Red Bull but there is little chance of the Mercedes man making a late move.
Lap 78: Webber begins his final lap in Monaco.
Lap 77: Button arrives back in the pitlane on foot. He will sleep tonight and will probably still see the rear wing of that Caterham with his eyes shut.
Lap 77: Three laps to go, with Webber still holding the lead train of Rosberg, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton and Massa.
Lap 74: Hamilton is warned of the chance of further rain, which McLaren think could be an opportunity.
Lap 74: Kovalainen pits and takes on a new front wing. He rejoins in 13th place, after Caterham's best showing.
Lap 73: This is terrible for Vergne, who is ripping his intermediate tyres to pieces - 1m27s on the last lap.
Lap 73: The spots of rain appear to have stopped and we have a dry circuit once again.
Lap 73: Five laps to go in Monaco with the top six still covered by less than five seconds.
Lap 73: Kovalainen then recovers from his blue flag situation and is attacked by Perez. The Mexican gets through and up to 12th.
Lap 73: Kovalainen is caught by the leading group and manages to let them all through.
Lap 73: Webber has the best run through that traffic, pulling slightly clear of Rosberg for the moment.
Lap 73: Vergne is on those intermediates in 11th with Kovalainen 12th - the Finn has a damaged front wing.
Lap 73: Webber leads the train into lap 73 as the pack homes in to lap that scrap between Perez and Kovalainen.
Lap 73: So behind the top six we have di Resta now in seventh with Hulkenberg eighth, Raikkonen ninth and Senna in 10th.
