Lap 58: Di Resta is ninth, 10.5s behind Vergne. Hulkenberg is on the Scot's tail, then Raikkonen 11th and Senna on his gearbox in 12th.
Lap 57: Schumacher in seventh trims another second to the lead group. He is now 16.3s behind Massa, with Vergne still eighth.
Lap 57: Hamilton is told of Massa's plan to conserve rubber for a late fight and says he will try to do likewise.
Lap 57: Kovalainen locked up heavily under braking for the left-right section, but was able to save it. Button attacks again and the fight for 13th is renewed.
Lap 56: Alonso is taking it easy at the moment, perhaps repeating his wise tyre conservation from earlier on. Vettel is harrying the Ferrari now.
Lap 56: Kovalainen makes an error at the chicane and bounces over the kerb. Button is now on top of him.
Lap 55: Webber has locked up heavily into the harbourside chicane, with the resultant flatspot likely to be a worry for the leader.
Lap 55: Glock loses a piece of his front wing, creating a yellow flag through the swimming pool section. Perez is now on his tail.
Lap 54: Pace fading across the top six, with laps now in the 1m20s.
Lap 54: While the front group pace things out with tyres, Schumacher is beginning to catch up. He remains in seventh, but is now only 17 seconds behind Massa.
Lap 55: Massa is told to conserve his rubber by Rob Smedley, eying a late move on Hamilton if the McLaren man struggles to make the tyres last.
Lap 54: Perez is making progress now on these tyres and will catch Glock in the next lap or two. That will become a battle for 16th.
Lap 54: There's little choice for the rest of the top six but to react to Vettel's move up the order by converting to a one stop plan.
Lap 53: Button has dropped back a touch from Kovalainen. They remain in 13th and 14th positions. The pair are almost 10s behind Senna.
Lap 53: On the team radio, Hamilton is shocked to learn of McLaren's plan to run to the end on these tyres.
Lap 52: Webber's pace isn't stellar at this stage in the late 1m19s bracket, with Rosberg, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton and Massa all within 5.2 seconds
Lap 52: Perez is way down in 17th but clocks the fastest lap of the race with 1m17.296s - more than two seconds quicker than the group up front.
Lap 51: Nail-biting times @InsideFerrari: "No room for the slightest mistake now... every single one will cost very dear..."
Lap 51: Schumacher locks up heavily coming into the chicane and is forced to take evasive action and complete a shortcut. He went through slowly and gained no time.
Lap 51: Vettel is told about the leaders making 29 laps on the supersofts, which he should easily be able to match with a lighter car.
Lap 50: AUTOSPORT's TV critic @Revved_Up makes a pertinent observation: "Karthikeyan lapped faster than Webber last lap..."
Lap 49: Raikkonen in 11th place is told over the Lotus team radio that they expect no rain and that he must go to the end.
Lap 49: Teams will certainly be hoping to make a one-stop plan the order of the day now, with Vettel proving the soft rubber can run very long here.
Lap 49: Di Resta continues on in ninth, 7.6s back from Vergne. The Scot is tailed by team-mate Hulkenberg, then Raikkonen and Senna.
Lap 48: So that puts Webber back in the lead ahead of Rosberg, Alonso and Vettel. Hamilton has been jumped by Vettel running long, with Massa sixth.
Lap 48: Schumacher is still losing ground in seventh. He is now 23 seconds back from Massa, with Vergne 2.2s behind the Mercedes in eighth.
Lap 46: Hamilton can't barge past the exiting Vettel and is forced to slot in behind the Red Bull.
Lap 46: Webber, Rosberg and Alonso are through but what about Hamilton ...
Lap 45: Action in the Red Bull garage and Vettel is in for supersoft rubber. Where will he feed out?
Lap 45: Alonso is reacting to the threat of Vettel, setting his best of 1m18.857s to be clocked 19.4 seconds behind. That will be close at the stop.
Lap 45: Further light spots of moisture are falling, as Button continues all over the gearbox of Kovalainen's Caterham.
Lap 44: Not looking great for Hamilton at the moment, clocked 21.6 seconds behind Vettel and struggling to match the leader's pace.
Lap 44: Then comes the battle for 13th between Kovalainen and Button, with Ricciardo 15th, Glock 16th and Pic in 17th.
Lap 44: Hamilton bizarrely reports being hit on the head by something from the pitwall signalling area.
Lap 43: Vergne is eighth and close to Schumacher, with di Resta ninth, Hulkenberg 10th, Raikkonen 11th and Senna in 12th spot.
Lap 43: Vettel continues to lap strongly on his well used set of softs, clocking his best of the day at 1m19.076s.
Lap 42: Schumacher is seventh, but 23 seconds behind Massa's Ferrari. Meantime, Button and Kovalainen are now battling fiercely for 13th.
Lap 42: Hamilton is clearly being told to push to be clear of Vettel at the leader's stop, with Hamilton 0.2s quicker on the latest tour.
Lap 41: Ricciardo pits the Toro Rosso and he comes out on soft tyres. He has slipped down the order to 15th place.
