Lap 20: Petrov pits for the second time from eighth place in the Renault.
Lap 20: Perez completes the job and posts 1m32.261s - the fastest lap of the race. That is almost three seconds faster than Kovalainen ahead of him.
Lap 20: Hamilton is now 16 seconds off the lead in fourth and doesn't have great pace at this stage in the 1m34s bracket.
Lap 19: Sergio Perez sets the fastest first sector time in the race so far, having just pitted for fresh tyres. He is 20th and almost nine seconds behind Kovalainen.
Lap 19: Rosberg has hard tyres on his Mercedes, which could give him an advantage later on soft rubber, but for now is under pressure from Massa.
Lap 18: Schumacher is way down in 16th place after that second stop. He is 2.6s behind Maldonado and has just set his best lap time so far.
Lap 18: Perez pits for the second time from 18th and rejoins. D'Ambrosio is the last man to stop and he pits from 21st.
Lap 18: Alonso is just 2.7 seconds behind Webber in third and again looks to be on Red Bull's pace in this stint.
Lap 17: Buemi and Kobayashi were the clear winners in the midfield during that round of stops. Buemi has gained track position and now runs in the top 10, which the Japanese is up to 11th, having started at the back of the field.
Lap 17: Hamilton has pulled clear of Rosberg but is told to look after his rear tyres in Turn 8.
Lap 17: Sutil is up to 13th having barged his way past Schumacher just before the latter pitted. Di Resta is now 14th with Maldonado 15th.
Lap 17: Significant marbles are building up off-line as the tyres appear to be wearing more heavily than the teams had expected.
Lap 16: Kovalainen pits from 15th place. This is his first stop.
Lap 16: So Petrov is back into the eighth he occupied before that round of stops, with Heidfeld ninth, Buemi 10th, Barrichello 11th and Kobayashi 12th.
Lap 16: Rosberg is fifth, chased now by Massa, with Button sixth and looking to three stop, as opposed to rivals four.
Lap 15: Vettel leads by 2.9 seconds over Webber and Alonso, with Hamilton up to fourth.
Lap 15: Schumacher is back into the pits for a second time. Rubens Barrichello put the manners on him a couple of laps ago with a great move.
Lap 15: It happens this time around as the McLaren darts to the inside and is the next man to blow clean past Rosberg into Turn 12.
Lap 14: Hamilton is looking to get into position for the comfortable DRS pass on Rosberg down into Turn 12.
Lap 14: Kobayashi now pits from fifth, as does Alguersuari and Trulli.
Lap 14: Button pits for his first stop on what looks to be a different strategy to the rest of the leading contenders.
Lap 14: Schumacher passed Trulli for position and is also ahead of Barrichello and Sutil after their recent stops for tyres.
Lap 14: Hamilton is now chasing Rosberg, with Massa behind him as they scrap behind Kobayashi on the road.
Lap 13: Button flashes by with a lead of around a second over Vettel. Webber is third, with Alonso fourth.
Lap 13: Drivers yet to stop: Kobayashi in fifth, Alguersuari in 10th and Kovalainen in 12th place.
Lap 12: Kobayashi is up to fifth but has yet to stop in the Sauber. Di Resta pits from sixth place and falls back down the order..
Lap 12: Leader Vettel is in for his first stop, as Button goes through but is yet to stop.
Lap 12: Petrov has passed Trulli for 16th place. Schumacher isn't gaining ground on the Lotus nearly as effectively and is now four seconds down on the T128.
Lap 12: Hamilton is told they are looking at "plan B" - which with all these early stops may be four visits to the pits this afternoon.
Lap 11: Rosberg resumes just ahead of Hamilton and Massa on the road.
Lap 11: Heidfeld, Barrichello and Sutil all come in for tyres in a three-way race.
Lap 11: Webber, Alonso and Rosberg all pile into the pits.
Lap 11: Kobayashi has ripped his way through the latter half of the field. He is now 13th.
Lap 10: Petrov is in 18th and fills the space between Trulli and Schumacher.
Lap 10: Hamilton looked to have used the best of his tyres ... and gets a rapid stop to overtake Massa in the pitlane.
Lap 10: Buemi pits from 11th in the Toro Rosso.
Lap 10: Massa is right with Hamilton now and he DRS passes the McLaren with another easy move before they both pit.
Lap 9: Petrov rejoins after a quick stop but will fall out of the top 15.
Lap 9: Alonso has good race pace at this stage and is matching Webber, two seconds beind the Red Bull on the road.
Lap 9: Petrov pits from eighth place in the Renault. He had been dropping away from the top seven.
