Lap 48: Webber will surely pass Hamilton quickly thanks to the fresh rubber, with the team clearly planning to chase down Button as well.
Lap 48: Supersoft rubber goes on the Red Bull and he resumes behind Hamilton on the road.
Lap 48: Webber pits for the final time.
Lap 47: Trulli pits the Lotus from 20th position.
Lap 47: Little change up front as Vettel holds a commanding 13.5 second lead from Button and Webber.
Lap 47: One lap down and in 16th, Kovalainen is fighting off a spirited attack from Petrov, with Alguersuari catching up to the back of them quickly.
Lap 46: Maldonado pits from 10th place, handing the final points position to team-mate Barrichello for the moment.
Lap 46: Hamilton is told he is matching Alonso on pace but is interestingly informed he is gapping the cars behind ahead of a final stop.
Lap 46: Maldonado is five seconds behind Perez in 10th, with Barrichello 11th, Buemi 12th and Massa slowly catching back up to the Toro Rosso in 13th.
Lap 46: Behind the top seven, Sutil continues to hold eighth but he is almost five seconds behind Rosberg now. Perez is just 1.2s behind Sutil.
Lap 45: Vettel is clocked 13.4 seconds clear of Button, which is well short of the near 30 second margin required for a stop here.
Lap 45: The incident between Schumacher and Perez will be investigated after the race. Bear in mind that Heinz-Harald Frentzen is on the stewards panel this weekend.
Lap 44: Rosberg has escaped penalty for the clash with Perez into the first corner.
Lap 44: Hamilton is now 11.3 seconds behind Alonso, with the gaps largely stabilising at the front of the field.
Lap 44: Webber continues to edge closer to Button, with 3.4 seconds between the second and third-placed cars.
Lap 43: The Brazilian rejoins behind Maldonado, Barrichello and Buemi in 13th.
Lap 42: Hamilton is told he is the fastest car on track, but warned to be careful of the tyres as they may need to "go long"
Lap 42: Massa pits from 10th position after being held up by Perez for the last couple of laps.
Lap 42: Di Resta continues in a strong sixth place, largely untroubled by Rosberg and Sutil behind him.
Lap 42: Kobayashi pits from 15th place to serve that drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags. He rejoins, losing 24 seconds in the process.
Lap 42: Ahead of 18th placed Alguersuari, Senna is 15th with Kovalainen 2.3s back in 16th. Petrov is right on the Finn's tail.
Lap 41: 20 laps remain in the lengthy Singapore Grand Prix.
Lap 41: Hamilton is closing on Alonso at approaching a second per lap, but it is a stretch for the McLaren to do the distance on supersofts.
Lap 41: Down the field, Alguersuari has just passed d'Ambrosio for 18th position.
Lap 41: Rosberg is now under investigation for the incident with Perez where he forced the Sauber man off the road just before the Schumacher crash.
Lap 40: Sutil posts his best lap of the race so far, but that doesn't halt the charge of Perez. Kobayashi is given a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags.
Lap 40: Vettel is only 12.5 seconds ahead of the McLaren, meaning he will be forced on to the same strategy if Button does not pit.
Lap 40: Button appears to be conserving his tyres at this stage, hoping to run to the flag thanks to his gentle use of the rubber.
Lap 40: Maldonado is 11th with team-mate Barrichello 2.8s back in 12th and Buemi 13th and the last man on the lead lap.
Lap 39: Sutil is beginning to lose pace in eighth. Perez and Massa are all over the back of him.
Lap 39: Hamilton chalks up another pass has he makes a simple DRS move on di Resta to take fifth.
Lap 39: Alonso's pace is poor at this stage and he has fallen over five seconds behind Webber. The Spaniard will surely have to stop again.
Lap 39: Kamui Kobayashi is under investigation for ignoring blue flags. He runs in 14th place, 26.4s ahead of Kovalainen.
Lap 38: Hamilton is now chasing down di Resta to take over fifth place.
Lap 38: Alguersuari was handed a drive-through penalty for contact with Trulli during the first pitstop phase, hence his recent journey into the lane. He rejoins in 19th place.
Lap 38: Hamilton breezes past Rosberg on DRS to take sixth place as he bounces back from a troubled first half of the race.
Lap 38: Sutil drops to eighth, with Hamilton now up to seventh and chasing after Rosberg.
Lap 37: Alguersuari comes into the pits from 18th place in the Toro Rosso.
Lap 37: Hamilton now has DRS but can't make it into Turn 7, but does stick his nose through on Sutil at Turn 8.
Lap 37: Vettel is told he "may be going to the end on this set of tyres" which would be a very bold gamble from the Red Bull team.
