Lap 27: Di Resta rejoined in 12th, ahead of Alguersuari, Sutil, Buemi, Kovalainen, Trulli, Glock, D'Ambrosio and Liuzzi in 20th and last position.
Lap 27: Vettel does make good use of DRS on Massa and is back into the lead.
Lap 26: Vettel has DRS available on Massa this time by as Alonso heads in.
Lap 26: Schumacher is coming under serious attack from Kobayashi for ninth place. They are 15 seconds clear of Rosberg in the second Mercedes entry.
Lap 26: Vettel is suck behind Massa's gearbox, which is great news for both Alonso and Hamilton.
Lap 26: Hamilton pulls a brave move around Petrov at Turn 5 and now has a clear track he can use to pounce on Vettel.
Lap 25: Vettel is away on the softer tyres and resumes behind the scrap between Heidfeld and Massa.
Lap 25: Vettel pits in reaction to Hamilton's stop. Red Bull has soft rubber ready.
Lap 25: Perez pulls off to the side of the track a short way down the penultimate straight with a problem. He is out of the race.
Lap 25: Di Resta pits from eighth and that releases Schumacher as Barrichello retires from the race. Both Williams cars out.
Lap 25: Hamilton will need to clear the Renault quickly if he wants to take advantage of his fresh rubber.
Lap 24: Hamilton pits and takes the harder tyres, but he comes out sixth, right behind Petrov.
Lap 24: Barrichello comes into the pits for a third time and this looks like it could be a lengthy stay.
Lap 24: Hamilton and Alonso continue to close on Vettel, who says his tyres are slowly entering "phase two" of degradation.
Lap 24: It's a clean stop for McLaren and Button resumes in seventh on the road.
Lap 23: Button is the next man in the pits for another set of soft rubber.
Lap 23: Schumacher is unable to make any real impression on Paul di Resta in the fight for ninth. The Scot is holding a 3.7s lead over the the German.
Lap 23: Webber pits and seems to be on course for a four-stop plan. He resumes a lowly 11th.
Lap 23: Kovalainen is 17th and just three seconds behind Buemi. Glock runs in 18th with Trulli up his gearbox in 19th, D'Ambrosio 20th and Liuzzi 21st.
Lap 22: Meanwhile, Hamilton has closed to 4.4s off leader Vettel.
Lap 22: Webber looks to be struggling with tyre wear and a possible KERS problem.
Lap 22: Buemi comes into the pits from 12th place, promoting Rosberg. Alguersuari is now 13th with Perez 14th, Sutil 15th and Buemi rejoins in 16th.
Lap 22: Webber is 16.7 behind his team-mate in ... seventh as Massa easily takes position from the struggling Red Bull.
Lap 21: Kobayashi is 11th with Buemi 12th and Rosberg 13th. Rosberg clearly had an issue during his stop. He has lost around 30 seconds.
Lap 21: Hamilton closes just a tenth on Vettel on lap 20, with Alonso taking a six-tenth chunk out of the gap to Hamilton.
Lap 20: Alonso was comfortably the fastest of the top three on his latest lap, closing to 3.7s behind Hamilton.
Lap 20: The spots of rain have all but stopped as the race continues at a furious pace. Di Resta is up to a sensational ninth with Schumacher 10th.
Lap 19: Hamilton is informed of his progress against Vettel but again asked by the team to look after his tyres.
Lap 19: Barrichello is back into the pits for a second stop. He is still at the rear of the field.
Lap 19: Hamilton sets the fastest lap at a 1m43.338s as he closes the lead gap slightly to 5.7s.
Lap 19: Perez, Glock, D'Ambrosio and Liuzzi all pit this time round, while almost un-noticed, Karthikeyan has retired from the race.
Lap 19: It's Vettel from Hamilton, Alonso, Button, Heidfeld, Webber and Massa as light rain continues to fall.
Lap 18: Kobayashi finally makes his first stop.
Lap 18: Vettel and Hamilton are close on pace as they cross the line but the Red Bull has a 6.3s lead.
Lap 18: Alguersuari pits from 13th and Sutil comes in from 15th. Both are away after short stops.
Lap 18: Alonso is quickly on the tail of Kobayashi and has so much more grip than the Sauber as he sails by.
Lap 17: Perez pulls a great move at Turn 9 on Alguersuari to take over 11th place. Di Resta also sneaks through into 12th as the three cars battle.
Lap 17: Alonso sends a move down the inside of Button at Turn 1 and the Spaniard is through into fourth with a bold move.
Lap 16: Kobayashi is up to second and is yet to stop in the Sauber. Hamilton, Button, Alonso, Heidfeld and Webber is the shuffled order.
Lap 16: Webber sets another new fastest lap of the race - 1m43.961s. He is up to eighth and will climb higher.
