Lap 50: Rosberg maintains sixth but is concerned about his tyres on the team radio. Perez is still on his tail.
Lap 49: Hamilton is beginning to drop away in fourth and has Massa catching him at almost two seconds per lap the last time round.
Lap 49: Alonso has the gap up to 17.7s over Vettel, with Webber closing down on his team-mate in third.
Lap 48: Massa is now warned of Hamilton's fuel shortage. The Brazilian has strong pace at the moment.
Lap 48: Timo Glock is 16th with Virgin team-mate 17th. Liuzzi is 18th and 9.4s back, with Ricciardo still out there in 19th.
Lap 47: That puts Webber up into third, with Hamilton left to conserve fuel to the flag in fourth.
Lap 47: Di Resta posts his quickest lap of the race so far in 15th, but it has all fallen away for the Scot after another promising early stint.
Lap 47: Webber is right in the DRS zone on Hamilton and eases around into third at Brooklands.
Lap 46: Sutil is 11th but Petrov is charging after him. The gap between them is less than one second, with Barrichello 13th and Maldonado 14th.
Lap 46: Meanwhile, Alonso has a massive 16.1 second lead and is clearly on course for Ferrari's first win of the season.
Lap 46: Heidfeld is 16 seconds down on Perez and still has Schumacher very close to him. Alguersuari is a further 1.3s back in 10th.
Lap 46: Webber is closing on Hamilton all the time but is told this could be a "bluff" to make the Red Bull man use up the best of his rubber.
Lap 45: Perez isn't able to make any impression on Rosberg in the dry portion of the race. He maintains pace at one second behind the Mercedes.
Lap 45: Hamilton locks up heavily into the Vale, with Webber now 1.5 seconds behind the McLaren and closing.
Lap 44: Teams do short-fuel the cars and McLaren may have been caught out by the rapid pace or the recent adjustments to the engine mapping.
Lap 44: Webber is 2.6 seconds behind Hamilton in the fight for the final podium place.
Lap 43: Sutil rejoined from his stop in 11th place and has Petrov one second behind him. Barrichello is 13th with Maldonado 14th and di Resta 15th.
Lap 43: Hamilton is now being told to save fuel by the McLaren team.
Lap 43: Massa does indeed pit for a late stop as a dejected Button trudges back to the McLaren garage on foot.
Lap 42: Sutil rejoins after a quick stop, releasing Heidfeld to eighth, Schumacher up to ninth and Alguersuari 10th.
Lap 42: Webber is looking to put himself past Massa, who is now due in the pits.
Lap 42: Button's demise promotes Rosberg to sixth, with Perez still tight up behind him in seventh. Sutil moves up to eighth but he pits.
Lap 42: Alonso leads by a massive 10.3 seconds from Vettel and Hamiltion. Massa is yet to stop in fourth, ahead of Webber.
Lap 41: It appears the right front wheel is not bolted on Button's car and he has been forced to retire.
Lap 41: Button also makes his final stop and... has stopped the McLaren emerging from the pits.
Lap 41: Soft rubber goes on leader Alonso and he is comfortably back away ahead of Vettel on the road.
Lap 40: Vettel comfortably clears Massa with a move into Copse as Alonso pits from the lead.
Lap 40: Alguersuari is 13th and 1.4s behind Schumacher, as Petrov pits from 10th place.
Lap 40: That should play out in favour of Webber as Vettel sets a storming 1m35s lap on his fresh rubber.
Lap 40: Vettel is now catching Massa on the road, as Webber pits while Button continues past and onto another lap.
Lap 40: Behind the top six, Rosberg and Perez are fighting for seventh, with Sutil ninth, Petrov 10th and Heidfeld fending off Schumacher.
Lap 39: Button is now going to try the same tactics on rival Webber.
Lap 39: It's a quick stop for Hamilton but Vettel storms past the pit exit and the McLaren is demoted to third by the undercut.
Lap 39: Hamilton responds to the Vettel stop with a pit visit of his own.
Lap 38: Even if this works for Vettel, Alonso is long gone up front and this race is now comfortably in the Spaniard's hands.
Lap 38: Vettel's final set of soft rubber goes on and he will need a quick lap or two to try and jump Hamilton.
Lap 38: Perez is now just 0.6s behind Rosberg, having cut the gap from 2.0s. He will be on the tail of the Mercedes by the end of this current lap.
