Lap 35: Button is setting the pace at the moment and is closing up on team-mate Hamilton to tighten the leading train of cars.
Lap 34: Buemi is 18th and has finally passed all six of the new team cars after pitting to replace a punctured tyre at the end of lap one.
Lap 34: Nico Hulkenberg is now beginning to struggle badly on his worn set of tyres in 17th place.
Lap 33: Meteo France now predicts that rain may arrive in 15 minutes time - the second extension of their prediction since we first heard about the possibility of rain.
Lap 33: Button sets the fastest lap and is still just three seconds behind leader Webber.
Lap 33: No latest news on the rain but overcast conditions continue above the circuit. The track temperature has dropped down to 39 degrees.
Lap 32: Hamilton is now back on the gearbox of Vettel with the fastest lap in his McLaren.
Lap 32: Bruno Senna gets a run at Lucas di Grassi and he passes the Virgin for 22nd place.
Lap 32: Meteo France has revised its expectations of the rain, suggesting it is now due at 16:00 local time - in nine minutes.
Lap 32: Rubens Barrichello passes team-mate Hulkenberg for 16th place. They are on their own with Liuzzi 12 seconds up the road in 15th.
Lap 31: Vettel is looking quite racy at the moment and is right on the tail of leader, and team-mate, Webber.
Lap 30: Kubica is now much closer to Rosberg and fancies a run at the Mercedes on the run to Turn 12. He isn't close enough this time.
Lap 30: The track temperature has dipped to 39 Celsius with the overcast conditions.
Lap 30: Rosberg in sixth falls to three seconds behind Schumacher. Kubica, Massa, Petrov and Alonso are all there close behind.
Lap 30: The leaders are now closing on the back of the Lotus pair.
Lap 28: Kobayashi is doing his best to hang onto that group of five cars but is 2.5s behind them in 11th place.
Lap 28: It is still a tight one-two-three-four over the line with just 2.6s covering the lead pack.
Lap 28: Webber laps Buemi's Toro Rosso as he moves out of the way from the leaders.
Lap 28: The field is split into two distinct groups. You have the leading four fighting for the win, then Schumacher 22 seconds adrift.

He is now almost three seconds ahead of Rosberg, who in turn has Kubica, Massa, Petrov and a recovering Alonso now close behind him.
Lap 26: Schumacher continues edging away from Rosberg. It's now the younger Mercedes driver that is coming under pressure from Kubica, Massa and Petrov.
Lap 25: Webber sets the fastest lap but is just over a second ahead of the scrap between Vettel and Hamilton.
Lap 25: The Meteo France information now states that the shower will arrive in the next fifteen minutes. If rain does fall it will completely change the complexion of the race.
Lap 25: Button is warned of the rain on the radio and told that it could be his opportunity. The world champion is fourth, behind team-mate Hamilton.
Lap 24: Schumacher in fifth is now a full 20 seconds behind the leading quartet. He has Rosberg two seconds behind him.
Lap 24: Hamilton is still right on the case of Vettel as the skies continue to darken.
Lap 24: Fernando Alonso has fallen back to 2.4 seconds behind Petrov as he continues circulating in tenth position.
Lap 23: Bruno Senna has been into the pits and has dropped down the order to 23rd position. Now Chandhok pits from last for the first time today.
Lap 23: It is status quo in the top four as the teams ponder the potentially spectacular impact of that incoming shower.
Lap 23: The teams are now expecting rain in the next eight minutes.
Lap 22: The heat of the day has caused a convective shower to build up. The cloud is quite dark and rain can clearly be seen in the distance.
Lap 22: The Meteo France rain radar at the circuit is showing a sudden shower that has built in just the last few minutes. We could have a dramatic change in conditions soon.
Lap 21: Trulli is now 19th with Glock 20th, Senna 21st, Buemi now 22nd, Di Grassi 23rd and Chandhok now falling away in last position.
Lap 21: Hamilton sets the fastest lap as a spectacular four-way scrap continues for the lead of the Turkish Grand Prix.
Lap 21: Barrichello sends a move on Kovalainen and it sticks. The Brazilian takes over 17th place in the Williams.
Lap 20: The lead group were approaching Chandhok's HRT but clear him easily.
Lap 20: Heikki Kovalainen is 17th but now has Barrichello all over him in 18th place.
Lap 20: De la Rosa is 13th, followed by Alguersuari 14th, Liuzzi 15th and Hulkenberg in 16th.
Lap 20: With no more stops expected, Hamilton will now have to pass both Red Bulls on the road if he wants to win this race.
Lap 19: Massa is eighth and has Petrov now homing in on him in ninth. Alonso still tenth and Kobayashi 11th, with Sutil 12th.
Lap 19: Hamilton is fired up now and tries a move around the outside of Vettel at Turn 12, but he can't make it stick.
