Lap 6: The lead trio are pulling well clear of Rosberg in fourth.
Lap 6: Adrian Sutil was caught in midfield bunching at the first chicane on the first lap. He has been into the pits and rejoined, but runs 22nd.
Lap 5: Alonso is all over Button's gearbox as the Ferrari enjoys its straight-line speed advantage into the first corner.
Lap 5: Liuzzi is up to 13th with Alguersuari 14th, Petrov up five places to 15th, Trulli 16th and Glock 17th from 24th!
Lap 5: Replays show terrible starts for both Red Bull drivers. Vettel has fallen to seventh, with Webber ninth.
Lap 4: The position changes are amazing down the field. Schumacher is up to eighth and ahead of Webber who is challenging. Buemi is 10th with Barrichello 11th and de la Rosa 12th.
Lap 3: With Hamilton out and Webber down the order, this race is already set to tighten the championship race considerably.
Lap 3: Alonso is right with Button's McLaren and surely has more straight-line speed with a much smaller rear wing.
Lap 2: Hamilton's right front clipped the left rear of Massa's Ferrari entering the Roggia. His steering arm was broken immediately and he went off for good at the first Lesmo.
Lap 2: Webber has also had a terrible start and is down to ninth, behind Schumacher.
Lap 2: Kubica is fifth, Hulkenberg sixth with Vettel down to seventh.
Lap 2: Button leads for McLaren into lap two from Alonso, Massa and a fast-starting Rosberg.
Lap 1: It's disaster for championship leader Hamilton as he clashes with Massa at the second chicane. He's out!
Lap 1: Button leads through the Lesmos from Alonso and Massa.
Lap 1: Alonso gets a tardy start and Button takes the inside and holds it into the first chicane. Button leads!
Lap 1: The five red lights go out and we are racing at Monza!
All now in position. Let's get ready for a high-speed and hopefully safe race.

"I don't know what is going to happen. We will see in a minute. My starts have been good the last few races. Turn 1 is the tricky one as is Turn 4. More downforce should help in looking after the tyres but we've got to be careful we don't overheat them."
