Lap 49: Vettel sets his personal best despite having completed 49 laps on his soft tyres.
Lap 49: Alonso leads comfortably at Monza with just five laps remaining.
Lap 48: With just five laps to go, Petrov still has not stopped and runs in 10th position, while the battle for what will be the final point is behind him.
Lap 48: Vettel is now 20 seconds clear of Rosberg and will come out of the pits right with that pack - particularly the Hulkenberg/Webber squabble.
Lap 47: Glock continues in 17th as Virgin looks to get the upper hand over Lotus today. Kovalainen is 1.1s behind Glock.
Lap 47: Pedro de la Rosa is 14th but 14.5s behind Liuzzi. Alguersuari is 20s behind de la Rosa in 15th, with Sutil 16th.
Lap 46: Webber sets the fastest lap as he responds to the threat of Vettel's upcoming stop.
Lap 46: The positions are static down the field with Schumacher in ninth, Petrov yet to stop in 10th, Barrichello 11th, Buemi 12th and Liuzzi 13th.
Lap 46: Button appears to be saving fuel in his McLaren and has fallen well off Alonso, back towards third-place man Massa.
Lap 45: Vettel is 23 seconds clear of team-mate Webber and could be course to leapfrog him at the German's late stop.
Lap 44: Webber has fallen almost a second behind Hulkenberg. As yet, the stewards haven't announced an investigation on the German's chicane cutting
Lap 43: Further back, the newer team battle is headed by Glock in 17th after Trulli's stop. Kovalainen is still on his gearbox in 18th with di Grassi 12 seconds back in 19th. Trulli is just one second behind di Grassi.
Lap 43: Alonso sets another fastest lap to press home his advantage out front.
Lap 43: Alonso's lead is up to 1.8 seconds, with Massa 5.1 behind his team-mate in third.
Lap 43: Barrichello is 11th at the moment, 1.5s ahead of Buemi, with Liuzzi a further 1s behind in 13th place.
Lap 42: A great scrap is developing for 11th. This will be the fight for the final point when Petrov finally stops.
Lap 42: Vettel is now right with Massa ahead of his pitstop.
Lap 41: Webber is pushing his team to pass on Hulkenberg's chicane-cutting actions to the stewards.
Lap 41: So, the order is Alonso from Button, Massa and Vettel - who is on course to leapfrog that Rosberg, Hulkenberg, Webber and Kubica pack.
Lap 40: Button questions McLaren's strategy over the radio and is told the team thought new tyres were faster.
Lap 40: Barrichello has jumped Buemi and takes over 11th place with still a couple of drivers yet to stop up ahead.
Lap 40: Alonso sets the fastest lap and is on course for victory here.
Lap 39: Meanwhile, Hulkenberg has again been using the run-off to defend from Webber and could be in trouble with the stewards for that.
Lap 39: Alonso leads from Button and Massa as the crowd go wild at Monza.
Lap 39: Massa now stops but the Ferrari team has already done the business with a quick stop for Alonso to leapfrog Button.
Lap 39: Barrichello pits from ninth and rejoins, but the question is has he gained track position over Buemi?
Lap 38: Alonso has the advantage and holds off Button down to the second chicane.
Lap 38: Alonso is out and it is side-by-side into the first corner ...

Lap 37: Its a big scramble at the first corner, with Webber making a bold move to pass Kubica down to the second chicane.
Lap 37: Hulkenberg makes his stop and comes out just ahead of Kubica.
Lap 37: Button resumes, with Alonso now leading from Massa.
Lap 37: The McLaren crew complete a rapid stop for Button.
Lap 37: Barrichello immediately sets his fastest lap of the race, having been holed up behind Buemi's Toro Rosso in a fight for 10th for the first 35 laps.
Lap 36: Webber emerges behind Kubica, with Hulkenberg still running longer than that pair.
Lap 36: Webber is also in from seventh and away on hard tyres.
Lap 36: Michael Schumacher has slipped to 8.3s behind Vettel. Schumacher remains ninth, as Buemi pits from 10th, releasing Barrichello into free air.
Lap 36: Rosberg pits from fourth for his mandatory stop.
Lap 35: Button is being told to push now ahead of the stop.
Lap 35: The leaders race on into another tour with neither willing to blink for a stop.
