2010 Canadian Grand Prix Race day in Montreal

Button cements another McLaren one-two and the Woking-based team top both championship tables.

Liuzzi is through and past Schumacher at Turn 8 as Schumacher is forced wide.

Alonso secures the final podium spot while Vettel takes a solid fourth for Red Bull but hasn't been a great strategy day for the team.

Webber finishes fifth with his alternative strategy failing to pay off.

Kubica is seventh after losing out to Rosberg with that pitstop near the end. He's also sure to be unhappy about that earlier squabble with Schumacher leaving the pits.

Buemi finishes in a fine eighth place but it was chaos behind him. Liuzzi held on to that ninth place and at the final chicane Sutil drilled Schumacher to take tenth place.

Hamilton is overjoyed with his second win of the season and he will be happy with the fighting style in which the win was achieved.

Schumacher finishes 11th and scores no points as the young hungry drivers attack him yet again. Alguersuari was 12th with Hulkenberg 13th.

Hamilton steps out of the winning car and is clearly delighted as he heads to the podium.

Barrichello finished 14th with Massa eventually 15th, Kovalainen 16th, Petrov 17th after two drive-through penalties, Chandhok 18th and Di Grassi is the last classified finisher in 19th.

God Save The Queen rings out over the Montreal podium in honour of today's winners - Lewis Hamilton and McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton picks up the winners trophy and he is now on top of the drivers standings after an impressive drive to victory this afternoon.

McLaren team manager, David Redding, accepts the constructors' prize for another one-two.

Jenson Button takes his award for second place. The world champion drove a very good race, finishing 2.2 seconds behind his team-mate.

Alonso takes the third-place trophy after a solid result. However, the Spaniard may be upset about one or two incidents in that race.

The champagne sprays on the podium after a brilliant race on the Ile Notre Dame.

It has been an extraordinary Canadian Grand Prix with an endless list of talking points for the coming hours.

Five drivers retired from the Canadian Grand Prix:

• Timo Glock, Jarno Trulli and Bruno Senna all retired in the pits with mechanical problems.

• Pedro De La Rosa stopped out on track with what looks likely to be an engine failure.

• Kamui Kobayashi was the first casualty. He got launched on the kerb at the final chicane and bumped into the wall of champions. He retired at the side of the track just 300 metres later.

Another hard-fought race between the championship contenders shakes out in favour of McLaren. An unbelievable race weekend comes to an end with McLaren scoring a one-two in great fashion to take a clear lead in both championships.

Tyres dominated the action and the quality of racing in the first 15 laps was nothing short of phenomenal. Fights all the way through the field, incidents, penalties and some really good overtaking moves. Who needs rain?
