Lap 32: Alonso is still tight up behind Kobayashi's Sauber but can't find a way through, while back down the road Hulkenberg is on the back of de la Rosa in a battle for 12th.
Lap 32: Hamilton is being advised the team only want to change tyres when intermediates are the right call.
Lap 32: Hamilton is pushing again to build up a cushion to help give him an advantage if rain does arrive.
Lap 32: Alguersuari is 11th with de la Rosa 12th, Hulkenberg 13th, Liuzzi 14th, Buemi 15th, Trulli 16th and di Grassi 17th.
Lap 31: The state of the approaching clouds back up the radar image showing significant rain that is unlikely to miss the circuit.
Lap 31: Petrov is 10th, 4.4s behind Alonso ... as now we see the Ferrari trying a move on Kobayashi at the Bus Stop. Kobayashi holds firm this time.
Lap 30: The rain radar now shows heavy showers arriving in around 10 minutes time. The clouds are already rolling in and there will surely be more drama.
Lap 30: Behind the Mercedes pair, Kobayashi runs eighth. Alonso has just down that gap from 13 seconds and is now just 1.5s down on the Sauber.
Lap 30: Hamilton makes the fastest lap a 1m49.591s as he extends his lead to 9.7 seconds over Kubica.
Lap 29: Kubica has pulled a couple of seconds clear of Webber as they battle through lapped traffic. They are second and third.
Lap 29: There are some threatening clouds once again moving in towards the circuit.
Lap 28: That was costly for Massa as he finally clears Kovalainen but drops over two seconds on that lap.
Lap 28: Vettel makes it back to the pits and the mechanics go to work. Soft tyres are fitted and he rejoins in 20th position - what a disaster.
Lap 28: Rob Smedley warns Massa of a further shower risk in about 20 minutes, while the Ferrari man was prevented from lapping Kovalainen by yellows
Lap 27: What a day the young German has had. Incidents aplenty and now he is crawling slowly towards Blanchimont.
Lap 27: Massa finds some pace to take the fastest lap but he is 15 seconds behind leader Hamilton, down in fourth.
Lap 27: Vettel's right rear tyre caught the front wing of the Force India and Vettel is touring back slowly to the pits with a puncture.
Lap 27: Hamilton grabs the fastest lap as he builds his hard tyres up to temperature.
Lap 27: Vettel tried a move on Liuzzi for 11th but the pair made contact at the Bus Stop. Liuzzi immediately pitted for a new nose.
Lap 27: So Vettel has gained two places and runs 12th, with Alguersuari 13th and de la Rosa 14th.
Lap 27: Kubica sets the fastest lap as he is pushed by Webber. Hamilton is 9.3 seconds ahead of that second-place battle.
Lap 26: Vettel has passed Alguersuari for 13th and seconds later de la Rosa makes an error allowing both of them through.
Lap 26: Schumacher has yet to stop and Adrian Sutil wants his fifth place - and he gets it with a bold move at Les Combes.
Lap 26: Liuzzi is 11th and has de la Rosa on his gearbox. Alguersuari is just one second behind the pair of them and Vettel has caught that group now.
Lap 25: It's a perfect stop for the McLaren team and Hamilton is back underway, comfortably clear in the lead at Spa.
Lap 25: Hamilton pits from the lead.
Lap 25: Massa also made his stop and has resumed behind the Kubica/Webber scrap in fourth.
Lap 25: So behind the Mercedes pair who are running fifth and sixth, Sutil is seventh with Kobayashi eighth, Alonso ninth and Petrov in 10th.
Lap 25: Webber is right there on the run to Les Combes but Kubica defends extremely well to hold on to second.
Lap 25: Alonso continues in ninth place. He is now six seconds behind Kobayashi. The Japanese has just been passed by a charging Sutil on fresh tyres.
Lap 25: It's a quick turn around and he comes out a nose ahead of Webber's Red Bull.
Lap 24: Kubica is indeed in for service in the Renault pit.
Lap 24: Kubica will probably want to pit this time to try and defend from a rapid Red Bull on fresh tyres.
Lap 24: Vettel now sets the fastest lap of the race - 1m50.868s and he pulls two seconds in on Alguersuari.
Lap 24: Vettel has Alguersuari four seconds ahead of him with de la Rosa another second ahead in 12th.
Lap 23: Hard tyres go on the championship leader and he will hope to jump Kubica here.
Lap 23: Hamilton sets the fastest lap at 1m51.245s as Webber pits his Red Bull.
Lap 23: Vettel has slipped to 14th after that drive through penalty. He is immediately on a strong pace, setting fastest sectors.
Lap 23: Sutil pits from a strong fifth and is back underway behind Kobayashi.
Lap 23: Down the field there is a monumental battle in progress between Trulli and di Grassi for 17th place. They have been fighting tooth and nail for a couple of laps.
