eROC champion Baldwin leads Motorsport Games Digital Cup entry list

eROC champion James Baldwin is among the first drivers to be confirmed for the Esports element of the inaugural Motorsport Games

This Olympic-style event will feature six different disciplines of racing over four days in Rome and the 'Digital Cup' will take place on GT Sport.

The first 16 drivers have been revealed, with a mix of GT World Tour regulars and some new names to the franchise.

Mikail Hizal, who won the latest GT World Tour event in Salzburg, headlines the list for Team Germany.

Australian Cody Latkovski completed the podium places at that same event and will be also be competing, but he will be joined by his father Valentin, who will compete for Macedonia.

Fellow GT Sport regular and deaf athlete Ian Anderson will represent Denmark.

They will be joined by Veloce Esports driver Baldwin, whose recent successes include eROC and becoming the inaugural Le Mans Esports Series champion.

GT Sport is not British driver Baldwin's game of choice, but he is well known for his versatility in sim racing.

Also on the initial entry list is ex-Formula Ford racer Keith Dempsey, and the 36-year-old will fly the flag for Ireland.

Other former real-life racing drivers include Noreweign Tommy Ostgaard, who attempted an unsuccessful rise up the single-seater ladder at the beginning of the decade.

Further driver announcements will be made in due course, with multiple entries pending approval.

Motorsport Games kicks off on October 31.
