Kristensen fastest overall at Brands

Tom Kristensen ended the week of DTM testing at Brands Hatch with the fastest overall time

His Mercedes rival Mika Hakkinen had set the pace on the final morning, but Kristensen's 41.587 second lap from Tuesday stood as the best of the four day test.

Kristensen found Brands a challenge in the DTM Audi.

"A truly demanding circuit that you need a lot of stamina for," he said.

"In some of the bends you have to be truly courageous. It's fun to drive here."

Former champion Mattias Ekstrom was third overall, ahead of Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jamie Green.

Rosberg Audi driver Frank Stippler was the only driver to have a major drama on the final day. He crashed at Druids and damaged the car's underbody, ending his involvement in the test.

The entire 20-car field, including new Midland Audi signing Olivier Tielemans, was covered by just 1.2 seconds on combined times.

The DTM races at the Kent track for the first time ever on 2 July.
