Estoril 3: Opel on top

Heinz-Harald Frentzen showed that he's serious about this DTM lark, the former grand prix star topping the official test at Estoril in Portugal for the second day running

The German lapped his Opel Vectra GTS in 1m35.101s on Wednesday, fractionally slower than he managed yesterday. He was joined at the top of the times by Opel's lead driver from last year, Scotland's Peter Dumbreck, who was a tenth of a second in arrears. It was the third day that Opel had led the times, although it had tested at the former Portuguese GP circuit with its new car previously.

Audi locked out the 'second row', with Frank Biela heading Christian Abt in the new A4 machines. DTM rookie Jaroslav Janis was the surprise of the day in his year-old Mercedes CLK, outpacing the new C-Class machinery of Christijan Albers (sixth fastest) and Gary Paffett (eighth).
