Vauxhall gunning for podium
Vauxhall is preparing to shine as BTCC returns to daylight racing at Thruxton this weekend
Yvan Muller drove his Vectra to third place at the Snetterton night race and is hoping for a repeat performance at the Hampshire circuit.
The Frenchman suffered two punctures at the high-speed circuit earlier this year, and is hoping rounds 17 and 18 of this year's championship will bring him more luck at the 2.35-mile track.
'The Vectra is performing strongly in the races,' said Muller,'and we have proved several times this year that the car is good enough to run in the top three. If we can get qualifying right, we can have a good race.'
Also hoping for a podium visit is Muller's team-mate and double BTCC champion, John Cleland.
The Scot is a big fan of Thruxton and will be hoping to put on a good show in front of live TV cameras.
He said, 'I love this circuit. It's one of my favourites.
'It is a scary and dangerous place, but also great because it's the fastest track we race at - if you go off you won't stop until you hit Andover and the car is turned to scrap.'
