Round 21: Aiello ahead for Sprint
Laurent Aiello restored the status quo for this season when he eclipsed Rickard Rydell to take pole for tomorrow's sprint race
The slowest drivers from this morning appeared in reverse order to attempt to improve on the previous session.
Mark Blair (Vauxhall), Will Hoy (Renault), John Cleland (Vauxhall) and and Gabriele Tarquini (Honda) all went slower than their morning times and slotted in the identical grid positions.
Jason Plato (Renault) was the first to improve on his morning's time and neither of the Fords of Anthony Reid or Alain Menu could better Plato. Reid did gain a place over Menu though.
Independent Matt Neal was the second to improve and looked even better when Vincent Radermecker (Volvo) had a poor lap and was slower than both Neal, Plato and Reid.
Jean-Christophe Boullion (Renault) and Peter Kox (Honda) failed to improve on Neal so Neal jumped three places.
Into the last four and James Thompson (Honda) put in a good lap, which was good enough for third as David Leslie was slower.
Laurent Aiello was clearly pushing hard and did enough for pole. Rydell was unable to better that and had to settle for second.
