Plato determined to extend lead
Jason Plato has targeted two wins from this weekend's British Touring Car Championship triple-header at Silverstone as he bids to increase his series lead
The Chevrolet driver leads Honda's Matt Neal by 20 points with four rounds to go, following a double victory at Snetterton last time out.
He believes that improvements made to his Cruze during the summer will help him to keep up that run of form and help him add to his four wins so far in 2010.
"I'm coming out all guns blazing," Plato said. I expect the Cruze to be quick, so the target is a couple of wins and maybe a podium as well in the third [reversed grid] race."
His title rival Neal believes that, after a below-par points haul at Snetterton, a new engine for this weekend will help him and his team-mate Gordon Shedden reduce the gap to Plato.
"We've got a new engine on the way from [Honda specialist] Neil Brown, so if we get that - and we hopefully should - we should be back in the hunt," Neal said.
"Silverstone is always tight, so the aim has got to be to avoid the inevitable contact and get some good points."
