Ollie Jackson rejoins British Touring Car Championship in AmD Audi

Ollie Jackson will return to the British Touring Car Championship this season at the wheel of an AmD Audi S3 saloon

The Tamworth-based driver raced for the West Thurrock-based team in 2012 when AmD fielded a S2000-spec Volkswagen Golf. He took three top 10 finishes and was 18th in the points.

Jackson then switched to Speedworks for 2013 and was 20th in the points before a disastrous campaign with Welch Motorsport in a Proton Persona meant he looked to the Ginetta GT Supercup last year.

"If I'm being honest, I didn't really think a BTCC return was on the cards this year and I was expecting to return to Ginettas again for a second season," said the 31-year-old.

"However, I had a chat with [AmD Tuning principal] Shaun Hollamby and before you know it, we'd agreed a deal for me to race the Audi this year."

Hollamby believes that the link-up with the new driver can help AmD show the true potential of the Audi S3.

"Ollie is a driver who comes back into the series with a point to prove after a tough year in 2014 and we are confident that we have a package that will allow him to show his true potential," said Hollamby.

"We showed the pace of the Audi in the second half of 2015 and with Ollie back in the team, we are confident of being able to regularly challenge for points during the year ahead."
